It was inaugurated on March 29, 2013, with a construction cost of nearly VND 1.5 trillion dong (approximately US$88 million). The bridge was designed by the US-based Ammann & Whitney Consulting Engineers in collaboration with the Louis Berger Group. Construction was carried out by Company No. 508, a subsidiary of Civil Construction Engineering Corporation No.5, along with Bridge Company No. 75.
The main span was completed on October 26, 2011, and the bridge officially opened to traffic on March 29, 2013, marking the 38th anniversary of Danang City’s liberation.
