Join us on our Maras Moray - Chinchero Tour as we explore the Sacred Valley, poised between Cusco and Machu Picchu. Known for its verdant landscape, picturesque colonial towns and grand Inca stronghold, this valley is a splendid historical locale. We’ll take you to the mystifying Moray archaeological site, where the Incas adopted and adapted to new crop cultivation using a varied elevation terrace system. Our journey will further take us to Maras’s salt mines, where water from the mountains feeds individual evaporative pools down the hillside to form layers of salt crystals. These are subsequently harvested and distributed to remote high-Andean settlements.
