What a perfect day! - The guide Jose and the two cooks were just absolutely fantastic! I Was travelling on my own and José ws a wonderfull companion, had answers to all my question, let me walk in my own pace, was never rushing me - it couldn't have been better. And the two cooks produced a breakfast and a Lunch which was definetly the best food I had in more than two weeks of traveling though Peru so far. The Organisation by Trexperience was perfect.

Great tour of Rainbow mountain and Red valley - This is a mesmerizing tour. It’s hiking at high elevation ((start 15.5k and end at 16.5k), but the views are incredible. Katia did a wonderful job as our guide. She was very knowledgeable about the Inca customs and in fact setup a small ceremony for us to participate in. Breakfast and lunch were very tasty. One thing I would encourage the guide is better communication about the planned hike so that the group could coordinate better. For eg 2 people in our group went off on a horse while 3 of us hiked up. The 2 who reached first didn’t know what time rest of us will arrive, where to meet and what to do while waiting. So by the time we reached the summit, one of them had completed the summit and left back to the starting point. We searched for her and then had to do remaining part of the hike without her, not to mention the worry of not finding her! Overall it was still a very positive experience, one I would rate highly.

Full Peruvian experience - We did not only visited Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley, we also experienced Peruvian breakfast and lunch in the valley. Such a wonderful picnic experience. Katie also shared her tradition which is very wonderful. Katie prepared us for the climb with breathing exercise and it did help! Highly recommended for a full Peruvian experience.

Inspiring, challenging, and unbelievably rewarding – TreXperience’s Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley tour is a must-do! - had the most unforgettable day on the Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley full-day tour with TreXperience – truly a five-star experience from start to finish. From the early pre-dawn pickup at my Cusco hotel to the moment we returned, every detail was perfectly organized and filled with excitement. The scenic drive through the Andes in the early morning light was a treat in itself, with views of quaint villages and towering peaks as we made our way to the trailhead. We even stopped for a cozy picnic breakfast, which was a great way to fuel up and soak in the fresh mountain air before the hike. The hike to Rainbow Mountain took about two hours and was definitely challenging (the altitude is no joke!), but it was incredibly rewarding. Our guide, Monica, kept our spirits high and set a comfortable pace, ensuring no one felt left behind. Whenever I needed a breather, she was patient and encouraging, sharing fascinating stories about local culture and pointing out alpacas and wild vicuñas along the trail. Thanks to her motivation, I powered through the steep sections. And wow – reaching the summit was worth every step! We were greeted with breathtaking 360° views of the surrounding Andes. Rainbow Mountain itself was even more stunning in person, with its striped colors vivid against the sky. Standing there at around 5,000 meters altitude, taking in the panorama of vibrant rainbow-striped mountains on one side and the sprawling Red Valley on the other, I felt on top of the world (literally and figuratively). After savoring the views (and snapping plenty of photos), Monica led us to explore the Red Valley, and this ended up being one of the highlights of the trip. She even took me to some hidden parts of the Red Valley that most tourists don’t get to see. These secluded spots offered surreal landscapes of rolling ruby-red hills and gave me a quiet moment away from the crowds – it felt like discovering a secret corner of Mars in the Peruvian Andes! I am deeply grateful to Monica for going out of her way to provide this extra experience. Another thing I truly appreciated is that I had a flight the same evening, and Monica was very mindful of the time. She managed the schedule so well that I got to enjoy everything (even the extended Red Valley hike) and still made it back to Cusco in time for my flight without ever feeling rushed. That level of personal care and attention blew me away. Of course, an adventure isn’t just about sights – it’s also about the food and comfort, and TreXperience delivered here too. The chefs on our trek prepared a delicious pescatarian lunch that was probably the best meal I’ve ever had on a day trip. After the hike, we returned to a beautifully set up picnic site, where we relaxed and enjoyed our lunch in style. TreXperience had arranged gorgeous, decorated picnic tents, which made the meal feel truly special. I couldn’t believe we had such gourmet-quality food in the middle of the mountains – fresh trout, quinoa, and plenty of veggies, all artfully presented. As someone who prefers pescatarian dishes, I was delighted by the variety and flavor. It was a wonderful way to recharge and reflect on the morning’s accomplishments while feeling utterly pampered. A big shout-out as well to our skilled driver. The road to Rainbow Mountain is quite long and winding, and on the way back we hit some heavy traffic near Cusco. But our driver navigated everything with impressive skill and caution. Even though we were driving through narrow mountain passes and later busy city streets, I always felt safe and comfortable. He got us back to Cusco right on schedule, ensuring I could make my evening plans (and that flight) with no stress. A safe, smooth return after an exhausting hike is something you don’t always think about, but it made a huge difference – I was able to just relax and even nap a bit in the van thanks to his excellent driving. One thing that really stood out to me was TreXperience’s genuine commitment to gender equality and female empowerment. Not only was my group led by the amazing Monica, but I also noticed another TreXperience group on the mountain that day being led by a female guide. Seeing two female guides (Monica and another guide leading a private tour) confidently directing their groups through the challenging terrain was inspiring. It reinforced that TreXperience isn’t just paying lip service – they truly support and empower women on their team. As a traveler, this was wonderful to witness and made me respect the company even more. Overall, I can’t recommend this tour (and TreXperience as a whole) enough. It combined adventure, natural beauty, cultural insight, and comfort in the best possible way. The hike was challenging but completely worth it – you get those jaw-dropping views of Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley as your reward. The team – from Monica’s outstanding guidance, to the cheerful chefs and their fantastic food, to the driver’s professionalism – took care of everything, so I could just enjoy the experience. If you’re looking to visit Rainbow Mountain, do yourself a favor and go with TreXperience. I’d give them five stars and then some – this was truly the adventure of a lifetime that I will cherish forever.

Hands down one of my favorite experiences! - Such a memorable trip! There was a wonderful breakfast and lunch prepared by the talented chef Daniel. This was set up with all of the tableware and multiple courses. Fabulous food. Our tour guide Filio was so good from start to finish. Great communication beforehand. Absolutely no pressure to speed up during this hike, which I greatly appreciated as I was the slow one. We had some interesting weather (hail, rain) and this team handled it professionally and made sure everyone was taken care of. Highly recommend for a small group experience where you are able to take your time and truly enjoy your trip.

Disappointing Hike Experience Due to Poor Planning - I hiked Rainbow Mountain with Trexperience. Unfortunately, it was completely covered in snow so we couldn't see anything and hiking to Red Valley was impossible the meals were also cold and not enjoyable. our guide said it wasn't possible to get a refund due to the weather conditions and claimed it was not their fault. however I question why the company confirmed the hike given those conditions they should have canceled the hike and refunded us without hesitation. I was completely disappointed with this experience.
