Highlights
- Cusco - The day begins very early, with pickups between 03:00 a.m. and 03:30 a.m. directly from your hostels or hotels in Cuzco to Cusipata.\n\nThe initial drive will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.\n- Cusipata - The first stop will be in Cusipata, for 30 minutes, to have breakfast. \n\nFrom there we continue onwards with our journey for another hour and a half, passing through the village of Pitumarce, until Hanchipata-Llama Chimpana, where the hike starts.\n- Ausangate Peru - You will begin the walk at the foot of the Ausangate mountain range and make your way up the mountain for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. \n\nWe will then arrive at the highest point of the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) and the best place to see the incredible colors and the Ausangate snowy peak.\n- Vinicunca Mountain - This will be the highest point on the mountain, you will have the opportunity to see the different types of South American camelids (relatives of the camels). \n\nWe will also have the chance to visit the red hill, where we will have time to soak in the scenery and take some beautiful pictures. Please be aware that the red hill entrance fee is not included in the price of the ticket. \n- Cusipata - Stop at Cusipata for lunch\n- Cusco - You will finish the hike with a 1-hour descent into the flat terrain and back to where the walk began. \n\nThere, the driver will be waiting for you to return to the District of Cusipata where you can enjoy 1 hour of a delicious traditional lunch. \n\nFollowing lunch, we will return to Cusco, arriving at approx. 3:30 p.m.

Ain't no mountain high enough - While the air is thin, the beauty is unmatched. And the cooked alpaca is DELICIOUS at the top! Vicky was a wonderful guide who encouraged us for every step...and there were PLENTY OF STEPS!!!! Prepare your minds and your body and then DO IT

Vicky is wonderful 🥰 - We visited the Rainbow Mountain with our guide Vicky. She is amazing and very caring towards everyone. This day was very difficult for my brother and I because he was very ill, and Vicky did everything she could to help us. She speaks English and Spanish very well, so that helped a lot with communication. They arrived for pickup at the agreed time. Vicky was so wonderful that in the end my brother was fine and we had a wonderful experience.

Wonderful experience! - Carlos and Vicki were wonderful tour guides and made the experience a memorable one! They were informative, thoughtful, and continuously ensured that each member of the group was doing well. The hike was certainly challenging due to the altitude but Carlos and Vicki were very encouraging and kind. Another plus to the experience was that we were the first group at Rainbow Mountain and beat the crowds. I would absolutely recommend booking a tour with this company!

Great experience - We had a great experience taking a private tour from Rainbow Mountain Travels. They picked us up from our hotel on scheduled time. Our guide Carlos and the driver Enrique were fantastic. Very courteous and professional. We had a little rough weather to begin with we enjoyed the trip very much, Carlos accompanied us all the way to the top and helped us through every step. Also, the breakfast and lunch they provided were pretty good. Highly recommend them for a rainbow mountain trip.

Incredible! - Anderson is wonderful. We accompanied and helped throughout the journey. The altitude is difficult but it's worth it, we surpassed our limits and had an experience of a lifetime.

Amazing travel agency with awesome tour guide. - Our Guide CARLOS was awesome, knowledgeable and on time. He took us to rainbow mountain before crowd comes in. Provided nice breakfast and lunch included..our experience was awesome with rainbow mountain travels. We definitely recommend this travel company.

Magnificent Rainbow Mountain - I am so glad I get to see this magnificent nature art. I did not hike to the top but rented a motorcycle which was the best decision for me since I experienced altitude sickness the minute I got to the top. Overall from the pick up at our hotel, the breakfast, the climb, the lunch and the drive back to our hotel was an enjoyable experience. The tour provided was detailed and well organized. I will book my future travels with them.

Highlight of our Peru experience! - This day trip was INCREDIBLE. Yaki was an amazing tour guide, she made sure we had all of the info we needed, lead an fantastic tour, made sure we were all feeling good and answered all of our questions about the native culture. Sergio’s driving was top notch! Part of the fun of this trip is the breathtaking drive to the mountain. Sergio drove with great precision. We felt safe on the very high roads. To top it off, restaurant Vinicunca provided a delicious breakfast and lunch, the staff were wonderful.
This trip is not to be missed. It is a total bargain for the price. The 3am pick up is well worth getting to the mountain first! Cannot recommend enough.
