Manu National Park - The journey begins early in the morning as we depart from Cusco! We travel by private transport, stopping at Ninamarca to view the pre-Incan “chullpas” (tombs) of the Lupaca culture. Our adventure continues to Paucartambo, a charming colonial town with narrow streets and a beautiful church, where traditional customs are still alive. We then ascend to Acjanaco Pass (3,550 masl), the entrance to Manu National Park, and visit the Tres Cruces de Oro viewpoint (3,700 masl) for a stunning view of the Amazon basins. From here, we descend through an elfin forest and then a cloud forest, where we can spot the cock of the rock (Peru’s national bird), hummingbirds, trogons, spotted flycatchers, and woolly monkeys. The flora includes a variety of orchids, mosses, and ferns. We finally arrive in Pilcopata (700 masl) for our first night at the lodge, where we can enjoy a refreshing shower and dinner before resting.

Manu National Park - After breakfast, we continue our journey by private car for an hour and a half to Port Atalaya (500 masl). Here, we board a motorized boat to navigate the Alto Madre de Dios River. Along the rocky riverbanks, we have excellent opportunities to observe various birds, turtles, and sunbathing lizards. We then reach our next lodge. After lunch, we explore the mysterious Rainforest, encountering a diverse range of species such as tarantulas, ants, butterflies, several monkey species, huge trees, exotic plants, and palms. After this memorable walk, we return to our lodge for dinner. Following dinner, we embark on a night walk in the Rainforest, where we may see different species such as monkeys, ants, frogs, insects, birds, and other nocturnal animals. We then return to spend the night in our comfortable lodge, equipped with toilets and showers.
Rainforest Lodge to Parrot Clay Lick – Port Atalaya – Return to Cusco City
Manu National Park - After breakfast, we board a motorboat for a 10-minute ride to a clay lick frequented by parrots, budgerigars, and macaws, offering an unforgettable experience! After this activity, we return to the lodge for breakfast. We then re-board our boat to begin our return journey. Our first stop is at Port Atalaya, where our private vehicle awaits to take us back to Cusco, arriving between 7 and 7:30 pm.
