Salkantay, also known as Sallqantay in Quechua, stands as the tallest peak in the Vilcabamba mountain range, which is part of the Peruvian Andes. Situated in the Cusco Region, it lies approximately 60 km (40 mi) west-northwest of Cusco city. It ranks as the 38th highest peak in the Andes and the twelfth highest in Peru. Humantay is a mountain reaching 5,473 meters (17,956 ft) in the Vilcabamba Range of the Peruvian Andes.
