Great day! - We booked our trip through Getyourguide.com with Jonathan as our tour guide for 55 USD from Cusco. It was great! The food alone was worth the price! haha 😉. Really, I didnt expect much for a free breakfast and lunch buffet but the options were excellent, especially the lunch! Exceeded expectations. The tour was well organized. Our tour guide Jonathan was excellent and took great care of us. He spoke great English and was very friendly. He was always checking in to make sure questions were answered and everyone was good. He recommeded hiking in zig zags versus straight up. The hike is challenging but horses are available for 80 sol each way. This is a great option for anyone wanting to enjoy the lake without the bodily strain of hiking up/down steep terrain at high altitude. I hiked up and wanted to have a fun adventure down so I got a horse one way down from the lake. Johnathan was very helpful making sure I had a horse down, directing me where to get it and made the cash payment very easy and hassle free. Having the option to choose whether you want a horse at the bottom and at the top is great. Each bathroom trip is 2 sol whether you purchase something or not at their stand so Id recommend bringing some small change. There are several places to stop before the main ascent so no need to worry about finding a toilet! The 1 hr dirt road up to the hiking area from the restaurant is EXTREMELY windy, so if youre prone to motion sickness I recommend trying to get a seat on the right side of the van so you can see the view and road on the way up and try to find a seat towards the front of the vehicle. I was on the left side so couldn't really see anything, in the middle and started feeling queezy. Definitely saw a gal run out of another van and puke once we got to the hike parking spot. I do wish there was more time up at the lake after hiking up since that is the whole point of the trip, but overall a fun day and great experience. Thanks Jonathan!

Humantay Lake - Magical - I had such a beautiful day walking to the Humantay Lake with our guide Waldir ! We had a very nice breakfast and lunch and were the first on site - worth waking up at 3h in the morning !

Humantay with Jeff was fantastic! - Fantastic experience. Breakfast and lunch were just the fuel we needed pre and post an amazing hike with breathtaking views. Our guide Jeff was outstanding and spoke with contagious passion about Humantay Lake and the Inca culture. Would recommend!

Humantay Lake Hike - The Humantay Lake Hike excursion was great! It did start with an early morning wake up, but was well worth it as we were fed breakfast on our way to the hiking trailhead. The tour guides were wonderful and the views while hiking were stunning.

Fun humantay tour - We had a great time on our tour! Our guide Jeff and our driver made it a very easy journey from pick up to the hike. Jeff was informative and approachable, and helped build a lot of camaraderie with our group. I’d recommend this tour to anyone (as long as they’re up for a physical challenge!!

Pick up very early. Two hours driving. Nice breakfast. Another hour of driving. Then the trek up to the Humantay Lake, very stee - Jefferson the guide was super, everything was well planned. The price was very decent. Plenty of good food. Very, very enjoyable.

Depends on the guide. - The views of this hike is incredible, however, I had a difficult time with the hike and my guide was no where to be found the entire time. Everytime we made a stop I asked the guide to slow down, and he consistently went with the majority of the group which was very fast for me. I didn’t feel very supported. I had to take a horse up due to the difficulty and the feeling of not knowing if my guide would be around to help me if needed. After I expressed how i was not pleased with my guide he was much more attentive and looked out for the people in the back (me and 3 others) but it was sad to have to repeat myself 5+ times before he helped and understood that he needed to support the entirety of the group and not just the people on the front. In the end he was great, but not after I had to repeat myself multiple times about how unsupported I felt.
