Salkantay, or Sallqantay in the Quechuan language, is the highest point in the Vilcabamba mountain range, a section of the Andes in Peru. Situated in the Cusco Region, it’s approximately 60 kilometers west-northwest of Cusco city. It ranks as the 38th highest peak in the Andes and the twelfth highest in Peru. Humantay, another impressive mountain in the Vilcabamba Range of Peru’s Andes, has a height of 5,473 meters.
