Amazing experience!! - The tour was wonderful! Anibal and Alfredo were amazing guides! While the hike is quite challenging they help the group to make it up to the top! Definitely recommend this tour!! The red valley is so worth it!

Great guides and a great tour! - This was such a cool tour! The sites were amazing and the guides knew all the best spots for photos. Both guides had great personalities that made the tour a lot of fun. We especially had fun with Stephen, since we ended up hiking with him to the red valley. That was worth the extra hike. It was not as crowded as the rainbow mountain hike but still an awesome view. The buffet breakfasts and lunches had good food as well!

Passport Pictures - Hey I am just curious if I should be worried to send this company pictures of my passport. I booked with them and they want me to send a passport pic- is this safe?

Pick Alpaca for Rainbow Mtn and Red Valley - Yvan and Romariso were fantastic. From pick up on time to a chef made breakfast and lunch at a property they rent, before and after the climb- with flushed toilets. Their service was impeccable every step of the way. And DONT miss the Red Valley it is almost as spectacular as Rainbow Mtn. You pay a bit more for Alpaca but it’s so so worth it. Thanks.

Incredible experience that I recommend, it is worth the effort to reach the top - The rainbow mountain or seven colors should be one of the wonders of the world, we reached 5100 meters above sea level, they picked us up at 3:30 in the morning and that way we were the first to go up, the ascent It is a little difficult at first due to the lack of oxygen but the body gets used to it quickly, otherwise there is the option of going up on horseback or quadricycle! The guides were attentive at all times, making everything more fluid!

A Colorful and Unique Hike to Rainbow Mount and the Red Valley - The hike to Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley was breath-taking (visually and physically). The trailhead starts at around 4,300 meters (14,000 feet) and climbs to just over 5,000 meters (16,400 feet). The hike is approximately 4 K (2.5 miles) with the last 1/4 being the steepest part. Most take 2 hours, but no pressure in speed with lots of stops that have snacks/drinks/tourist stuff to buy along the way. Some in our group stopped at the Rainbow Mountain view point (saddle) and some hiked another 45 minutes up to view the Red Valley. There were 100s of people at the Rainbow Mountain saddle, but we seemed to the only ones to hike onto the Red Valley (a peaceful and beautiful view well worth the additional hike). Alpaca Expedition guide (Ruben) and his assistant, driver, and chef for breakfast and lunch were outstanding, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We left Cusco about 4:30 am and returned to our hotel in Cusco around 5;30 pm

Breathtaking Rainbow Mountain - We decided that Salkantay Trail wasn’t enough so we added this breathtaking trip to Rainbow Mountain. It definitely needs to be on the backend of any trip to get acclimated to the elevation but it was worth every extra step and out of breath moment. Horses can be rented to help with the climb. Ruben was energetic and kept us motivated. You can opt to hike another hour (there and back) to Red Valley. We had a wonderful breakfast as well as lunch. These chefs from Alpaca Expeditions are amazing.

Life changing - The area is beautiful and breathtaking but what people don't know Is how poor the people living here. This area is not controlled by the state/govt. Instead it is ran and preserved by the locals who live here to avoid exploitation and the destruction of the scenery. The farmers who live in this secluded location rely heavily on their potato crops for food. Currently they are suffering from a drought which threatens their lively hood and very existence. My family and I brang gifts a bread, candies and toys to give to the children in this area. You will pass many on the long dirt road to the mountains. This was a very emotional experience for us. I cried tears the entire time just seeing the harsh conditions in which they live. The govt refuses to help. Seeing the smiles on their faces filled my heart with joy. They were so grateful for just a loaf of bread. Please bring anything you can to help these beautiful people. Pay extra. Don't leave garbage. Help preserve this beautiful place and support the local people who spend their lives protecting such an amazing wonder of the world!

Really bad tour - it was a terrible tour and terrible guide. we woke up at 4 AM to be picked up at five but they picked us at 5:40 but we returned on time, so you can imagine we didn't have any time after 2 hours hike to see the red mountain. this was crazy and waste of money. I would definitely not recommend this company. And the guides English was not really good.

Horrible Company - The views and hikes were amazing, however the company was horrible. Our guide consistently told us to hike ahead, and he would catch up to us later... to which he would catch up and actually just pass us and continue hiking ahead, leaving us behind. When we did have a chance to ask him questions about the area, he rarely had an answer.
