• We begin with the Temple of Qoricancha, where various temples can be observed. Known as the “Temple of the Sun,” it was the most significant temple during Inca times. The site is notable for its remarkable engineering and the Cusquenian School paintings housed within.

Sacsayhuaman - • After our guided tour of this crucial Inca Temple, we proceed to the Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park, where massive blocks of Inca architecture are seamlessly joined. This impressive fortress is renowned for its rock-based construction, with some stones reaching 9 meters (30 feet) in height and weighing over 350 tons. Sacsayhuaman is also the venue for the “Inti Raymi” (Festival of the Sun) celebrated every June 24th.

Q’enqo - • Next, we visit the Q’enqo archaeological complex, a ceremonial and religious center during Inca times. Q’enqo served as an amphitheater where sacrifices were performed.
-
Pucara - • The tour continues to Puca Pucara, once an Inca surveillance post and entry checkpoint to the Inca capital.
-
Tambomachay - • Our final stop is Tambomachay, a significant site for the Inca, where water worship and leisure activities took place. It is also known as the waters of eternal youth.
We will then return to the city center, where you can enjoy dinner before heading back to your hotel.
