Great 3D 2N Manu Nationalpark Tour!! - Had a very nice 3D2N Manu Tour with Vilca by my own. I was solo travelling like everyone else in the group and so we had a convenient and fun group. Our tour guide Jose and our cook did an amazing job. We did a lot of activities such as beautiful boat rides, night walks, resting at peaceful lakes, very nice hikes and saw a lot of animals. 10/10 can recommend!

Perfect Manú Experience - The tour to Manú (in my case 3D) was perfect! Our guide José, a scientist, was very knowledgeable, teached us a lot, we had an amazing night walk and other activities such as visiting spontaneously an animal sanctuary and he was very friendly, we had a fun time. The food during the tour was delicious and the lodges were spacious, light and clean. I recommend a tour with Vilca a lot.

Our experience - Thank you very much to all the team that made possible that wonderful trip ☺️ is an unforgettable adventure. Although they are not much, two nights, you can see, learn and experience many things in the Peruvian jungle! We loved it! Already along the way we find different types of monkeys and birds/birds. For my family who still didn’t know the jungle the three days were a perfect glimpse to make them want to know the jungle more.

Amazing stay - Absolutely amazing. The Manu national park is amazing and a must see in Peru. Our tour was perfect. The accommodation are very basic but clean and comfortable. The food of our second night stay was also well above our expectation. We were expecting some basic food to survive in the middle of the jungle but we ended up with one of the best meals we had in Peru. The roads in the middle of the mountains can be quite dangerous but our driver was very careful and with a lot of years of experience. But what made our stay truly unforgettable was our guide, nickname, Taz. Everyone could see how much passionate he us about the park. He had tons of energy and he seemed even more excited than us every time we spotted something, even if he does this almost everyday. We walked a lot and did not one but two night walks. He answered all our questions and spoke a perfect English, and also a decent Italian and German as well. His curiosity and will to learn makes him a wonderful guide.

Everything you need to know! - I am going to say for the most part this is an amazing trip if you want to experience the Amazon on a small amount of time, but there is a bunch to know. First off they picked us up between 5:30-6am from our Airbnb, then the day started. We loaded a 12-15 passenger bus with a driver, guide, cook and 2 other tourists. We had room for the drive (my understanding is that it maybe full if busy times). We stopped for bread at a local place and were able to see them making and cooking in a brick oven, my 12 yr old wanted some hot. We bought a large one fresh for $5 sol. It was heavenly. Then we continued to a place for breakfast(not included costs $15 sol per person) clean bathrooms and a potato museum. From there we continued to the ranger station and signed in another bathroom opportunity. Then once in the Amazon we started looking for birds, got out along the way. We fed monkeys too. We took our time getting to the lodge about 6pm, so it’s a 12 hr day. Cook made fish dinner at 7pm. The lodge is bare minimum (remember you’re in the Amazon!, walls are thin), bed was very comfortable! We did a night time walk about an hour then bed to get up for breakfast around 6am. After breakfast we headed to a hummingbird garden (our tour guide said it was $10 sol per person and not required), but we wanted to go. It was beautiful! Worth the money (I was also able to get something to drink besides water). Then headed to the boat, once there there is a small shop for coke, cookies, soap, etc. we then boarded the boat for a tour of the Amazon river, if you sit up front your getting wet a little. Once done with that we had to hike with our bags to the next camp. BEWARE this is up hill(pack lite) it’s going to be muddy and wet. They will have already given you boots though at first lodge. Know that when you get to the end it’s at least 5 floors of stairs you are going up! And once you go out for hikes you’re down and up the stairs! We did the 3D/2N, with me, my husband and 12 yr old. We were put on a bus with lots of other people to come back, it was tighter and few stops! This was the worst part cause it was about 7 hours of riding. We did stop at a rehabilitation place for $10 sol per person and that was also awesome. Was it an experience? Yes! Did we have a fabulous tour guide Nicholas! 100%!!!!! What you need to know is bring headlamps, reusable water bottle (ps it’s outside temp water your refilling nothing cold!) bring a raincoat and tall socks as the boats rub you raw. It’s hot and muggy know you’re going to sweat. Bring soap and rag for the cold showers. Food was good but my son is very picky we used the hot tea water and made instant Mac and cheese. Bring snacks too, have Peru cash for stores and extras! Overall our tour guide was amazing, everyone was amazing and nice. There is a lot of bird watching you’re not going to see snakes or crocs. It’s a small taste, my son got bored at times even on the raft rides cause your bird watching. I would come back if I didn’t bring my son. But like I said it was a wonderful adventure and worth every penny!

I expected a little more - I would have given definitely 4 stars if it were not for the first day which consists of 10/12 hours by bus going at 20km/h and if the guide sees a bird you get off quickly to look at it, I expect to look for them in nature and not from the bus. Second day very fun, swimming in the stream, afternoon trekking and night trekking, I also recommend the rescue center (optional). On the third day you go out very early to see the parrots eating minerals from the banks of the river, only the small parrots are visible in the area where they take you, and then return to cusco. Advice to birdwatchers.

Worth considering - We did the three day Manu national park tour. We enjoyed it, although there were very early starts every day and the days were long. The guides were very knowledgeable and the food was good. The first lodge was really good, with private bathrooms (cold water only), power and it even had wifi. There were a few problems: - at the second lodge the rooms also had private bathrooms, but the rooms were in pairs with only a partial wall between, so you could hear everything that happened in the adjoining bedroom and bathroom. It was quite awkward - the van that was used to take us out to Manu was fine, but on the way back there was even less space between the rows of seats then you would get on a plane. Even average-height people had to sit slightly twisted because there wasn’t room for their knees straight ahead. It was very uncomfortable for an eight hour ride - at the start of the trip we had been picked up from our hotel, but at the end we were taken to a plaza near the Vilca office instead. We had no idea this was going to happen, and were expecting to be returned to the place we had been picked up from. Our hotel was several kilometres away. The guide was very unhelpful and shouted at us, but eventually agreed to take us back to where we had been picked up from
