This outing is definitely worth the effort! - This trip is so worth it! It was well organized from start to finish. My driver, Sang, was great. He picked me up on time and was friendly. He also Waited and allowed me to leave stuff in the car. My guide was also excellent. He had been walking the mountain for 15 years so knew lots of great facts and all the less waked paths! He is also great on the camera. Would definitely recommend this trip!

Sapa was truly enchanting - Our time in Sa Pa and its neighboring villages was truly memorable. Guided by the exceptional Su, we were immersed in a world of warmth, information, and cultural richness. Su's friendliness and knowledge enriched our journey, offering insights into local customs and fostering positive interactions within our group. I wholeheartedly endorse the hiking tour through the villages; it provides a profound understanding of the diverse peoples inhabiting this region. A big thank you to Su for her outstanding guidance—we couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We LOVE Sapa - We had a wonderful time with all the activities, especially the overnight sleeper train. Our package initially didn't cover the Fansipan cable car, requiring an extra fee, but it was definitely worth it. The two-day trek in Sapa was fantastic. Despite some challenging parts, the overall experience was thoroughly enjoyable. We were fortunate to have Phu (May) as our guide. Her helpfulness, friendliness, and engaging approach enriched our journey. Through her, we gained a deep understanding of the local culture, making our trip not only fun but also educational and rewarding.

We stayed in a 4-star hotel in Sapa that was brand new and had a great view of the mountains Amazing Hotel, had a private tour just myself and my husband with a great guide for the 2 days of trecking Phaj Muas belongs to one of the local minority tribes, speaks impressive English and took us through trails where we could see beautiful landscape and how local tribes live, always respecting our pace. Only cons relate to the tiredness of the overnight in the train to arrive and leave Sapa and also to the fact that we could not do an early check in at our hotel in our arrival to Sapa, so we were taken to the agency to another hotel to take a shower not the best installations and have breakfast and also before our return to Hanoi.
I definitely recommend this tour!

I thought everything was amazing... -
I thought everything was amazing. Really happy with this tour including the trek and our guide Thinh (or spelt Thanh). The only thing I thought could have been better was the dinners, it seemed very samey on the two nights we were in Sapa and very simple. A choice for dinner would have been great.

Great experience in to Northwest of Vietnam - Su was an excellent tour guide, with proficient English skills. Although February weather brought foggy cold conditions with a chance of rain, we were fortunate to experience rainfall only on the last day. The hiking trails spanning 3-6 miles through hills and streets were muddy and slippery, emphasizing the necessity of wearing hiking shoes. Despite the rice fields not being planted yet, we witnessed picturesque hillside landscapes adorned with grass and puddles of water. The accommodations, including the hotel and homestay, were satisfactory, while the food met our expectations. Overall, the tour provided good value, though it's worth noting that it may not be suitable for elderly individuals or those with mobility issues. Nevertheless, it was a delightful opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture of Sapa and gain insights into its rich heritage.

Do not do Sa Pa in winter - Let start by saying our local Sa Pa Guide was great! But, there were a few short falls. First off, the train to Sa Pa, got dropped off at the station by a driver that spoke no English and had no idea how we get our tickets. We contacted the tour operator and still got little and conflicting information. After walking all over train station we were told to just wait? An hour before departure an agent came up to us with our tickets and showed us onto the train. If they would have just told us that at the beginning it would have saved us an hour of complete confusion. Once we got to Sa Pa, our guide and the food were awesome. But the temperature was 38F foggy and misty. The hotel room was nice but the heater couldn't keep up. Never got over 55F in the room. There were never the views you see in the advertisement because of the fog and mist. They should warn people against going in winter. But again I can't stress enough how good our Sa Pa Guide was and how he tried to make our trip enjoyable.

Viator sub-contracted this tour out... -
Viator sub-contracted this tour out to a company called Bravo IndoChina tours who were a complete shambles. We got picked up from our hotel to be taken to the train station by someone who didn't have a clue about the tour and turned out to only be a random Uber taxi driver. We were also dropped off unnecessarily early to the station.

When we got to Sapa we were briefly met by the guide who led us to breakfast at a different hotel to the one that we were actually staying at. He informed us we could check into our hotel at 8.15 which he'd confirmed with the reception. We went there but couldn't actually get our room until 9.30.

The trekking was ok but more of a walk through the countryside. It was a big pity the guide didn't do anything to deter the local women from constantly following us and trying to sell us trinkets. This really took away from a beautiful part of the world.

Bravo had been in contact with me before the tour as apparently we needed a voucher that was different to the Viator one. Despite chasing them many times they never actually sent it to me even though they kept saying they would. Eventually they sent it to our guide. this voucher was also to be exchanged for our train tickets for the overnight train back to Hanoi. My friend and I were given tickets for berths in carriages at opposite ends of the train but verbally told they were actually meant for the same cabin and just to go there. However, when we did this the train staff weren't happy at all and kept asking us to move.
