- Pointe du Hoc - After driving about an hour and a half (times depends on your hotel location). During this first stage, I will talk to you about the succession of events which led France to be occupied by the Nazis in 1940. We will then talk about the planning and preparation operations for the landing of June 6, 1944 and finally discuss the exploits of the 225 men of Colonel Rudder’s second ranger battalion.
- Omaha Beach - We will stop in the heart of Omaha Beach in Saint-Laurent sur mer, where you can take some photos and I will suggest some restaurants so you can have a quick lunch before heading to our next stop.
- Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer - The American cemetery of Colleville sur mer is the most visited site on the landing beaches. We will stop to see, if you wish, a short film which pays tribute to some soldiers who died in combat during the Battle of Normandy. It will also be possible at this location to visit a small commemorative museum. We will then walk with respect among the 9387 tombs of the heroes who died to liberate Europe.
- Batterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer - At Longues-sur-Mer we can stop to see the casmates which still host the 155 mm cannons forming part of the famous Atlantic Wall installed in Europe by the Nazis from 1942.
- Kunstlicher Hafen - We will stop at Arromanches les Bains to see the remains of the artificial port installed by the allies in the first days of the assault. Here again I will explain to you the planning and installation of this gigantic site necessary for supplying the Allied army.
- Pegasus Bridge - If you wish, we will return to your hotel along the landing beaches to the eastern sector of the assault and we will thus be able to cross the Benouville bridge renamed Pegasus bridge in honor of a commando of the sixth airborne British division who heroically seized the site on the night of June 5 to 6, 1944. We will then drive back to your hotel.

Amazing Tour!!!! - Gilles and his team were absolutely amazing!!!! We had 8 people total and two very comfortable, clean, well stocked cars (food and beverages), that made our trip from the cruise port to Normandy very relaxing. Along the way, Gilles told us about the history leading up to the Normandy invasion which was so very informative, even as a HS History teacher myself! The other car was able to hear all the info as well due to his communication set up…it was wonderful!!! We stopped at the Point du Hoc first and received his guided tour along the way! After that, he arranged lunch for our group that was super delicious! Next stop was Omaha Beach, then the cemetery, the Mulberry Harbors and the Atlantic Wall, finishing off with the gun emplacements!!!! It was absolutely an amazing day!!!! I can’t tell you how highly I recommend this tour!!!! All 8 people in our group agreed that this was their favorite tour on our 2 week British Isle cruise!!!

You won't be disappointed. - Gilles is amazing. What a great person! Our train trip to Caen had an unexpected incident on the track which caused us to have to go back to LeHavre. He drove there and picked us up. He brought croissant for the whole family. He had a smile on his face and truly enjoyed the day with us. Very accommodating, very friendly. I would not tour with anyone else after this! Trusted with my whole family including a 10 year old and he did not disappoint! Cannot say enough nice things about the tour and how informative and fun it was. I got to go inside a German Gun emplacement and stand on the actual beach where it happened and look toward the shore. Bucket list items get checked off here. Life changing! Merci Gilles!

Normandy Beaches with Gilles - Our guide was Gilles and he was phenomenal! A very intelligent, friendly and caring person. He provided us with so much historical facts and information during our entire excursion. If you are wanting to go to the Normandy Beaches and get details facts on what actually took place there he is the guide you need! I cannot say enough good things or recommended him enough. Thank you Gilles for such an interesting and throughly enjoyable day.🥰🥰

Amazing private tour through the landing sites in Normandy - This private tour was spectacular, Gilles was very knowledgeable and eager to share history and anecdotes of the landing circumstances and events. He was very accommodating to your needs and desires and at the end of the your we had not only visited the historic sites but had enriched or knowledge, gained respect and honored the braves that have their lives for liberty.
We were a group of friends staying in different hotels and Gilles could arrange to pick us up in each of our locations. During the your he had excellent recommendations for a lunch stop at a historic site.

Wonderful knowledge of the history of the area - Giles was a wreath of knowledge of the history of the area. We learned so much and had time to really cover the area.
He took the time to reserve a table for us to have a very good French lunch.
We wanted to see The Beaches of Normandy and Giles covered everything so well.
It was a delightful excursion.

Best Tour of the Trip - Giles was a FANTASTIC guide. Extremely knowledgeable, informative and fun. He also provided an additional tour of his beautiful home town Honfleur, including dining recommendations, which we explored and enjoyed the following day. Overall, Normandy was the favorite experience of our three weeks in Europe. Thank you Giles for the wonderful memories!

Fabulous experience - Gilles was amazing for our tour of the landing beaches! His communication was great both beforehand and in person (he has a really engaging personality). Gilles has extensive knowledge about the area and it's history and adapted this to us and what we were interested in. He followed our pace and was so intuitive with giving us time on our own at certain points and then guiding us during others. His van is luxurious and the choice of snacks and drinks were really appreciated. Wish we could have had more tours with him!

An incredibly informative and moving tour. Gilles was an amazing tour guide. - The full day tour of Normandy, the museum and the landing beaches were incredible. Gilles was very knowledgeable about the history and gave a very informative tour. I would highly recommend it. The van was very comfortable.

I can’t say enough great things about Gilles and Your Normandy Tour! - Gilles is simply the best Normandy Tour Guide. Gilles picked us up in Paris, drove us to Normandy in a spotless Mercedes van equipped with wonderful snacks and drinks and was a delight to be around. We secured four days with Gilles and toured the D Day beaches, took a trip to Mont St. Michelle, St. Malo, Monet’s gardens, Bayeux, and other wonderful towns. Gilles is ever the professional and is knowledgeable, polite, and on time every time! Gilles is the benchmark I will judge all trips by. The best!!!! Enjoy!!!!!
