Excellent trip to British D-Day beaches and surrounding historic attractions from Le Havre - We were collected from our cruise ship at Le Havre by Thibeau, who then drove us to the Merville Battery, Pegasus Bridge and both the English D-Day beaches, with us spending time at each and within The British Normandy Memorial. At the suggestion of Thibeau we went for lunch in Bayeux, what a beautiful city. The cathedral, the history and of course the tapestry is there too, although we didn’t feel we had enough time to do that justice. We had lunch and went to the cathedral and Thibeau kindly escorted us for a brief walking tour, The English D-Day beaches/attractions aren’t as far from Le Harve as the American ones, so the stress is reduced when you have to get back to the ship. We were out from 8.30 and got back just before 5. With hindsight, a quick view of the tapestry could have been done too and still got back in time. Will just have to go again!

Normandy… Let us never forget! - Our driver, although he spoke very little English, did a great job of navigating the roads and getting us to where we needed to be. Our guide, Sunny, Having grown up in the area had personal stories that helped us connect to her family and ours. She was very knowledgeable about the facts and the beaches and the cemetery. We appreciated her!! It was a very moving tour! it met our expectations and hopes. I was disappointed that Viator charged Over double the price since it was in the month of the 80th anniversary even though it was two weeks after the anniversary.
