Superb tour, highly recommended - This is a great choice for a Tour, a must-see attraction. Irazu volcan and the Cathedral are great. The views from the mountains are excellent. The tour departs early but it's because it's better to arrive in the morning to those areas. Highly recommended.

Good half-day trip with return transportation - Both the guide and the driver are very friendly, the distances are 1 or 2 hours but they tell you stories about the history of Costa Rica or the place. The guide is bilingual and has a very good level of English.

A tour you must do - We really enjoyed this tour. It was very informative Mr. Hayro was out tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, spoke very fluent english and was very patient to answer our questions. We also like that druring the entire ride on the way to the varios desitinations he told us so many stories sbout the history and culture of Costa Rica and showed us important buildings. We visited the Angels church, the volcano and we had delicious lunch at a restaurant after which we were brought back to our hotel. If you are coming to San Jose you definitely should do this tour.

A heady experience ! Irazu Volcano and Charles Lancaster Gardens. - Our guide Jose took us to the top viewing point before the clouds moved in. The water is no longer in view at the bottom of the crater, but the land is very atmospheric. We went to the lower point to experience a walk to the crater's edge. There is little to see, but volcanic ash on the ground and interesting plants along the walk way. The Lancaster Gardens were very beautiful and offer a microcosm of Costa Rican plants, Orchids and some imported plants - well worth it for plant lovers.

Irazu volcano, the top of the world. - A wonderful guide took us in her car. The stop at the old church in Cartago was very impressive. The guide gave us a lot of information. Driving up to the Irazu volcano was nice with amazing views. The walk at the Irazu crater was convenient, though we somewhat felt the elevation. The guide was very accommodating and so nice. The views from the top of the world (3400 m) were fantastic. Altogether a great trip and especially nice guide, like a private tour.

Impressive view - At an altitude of 3400 meters you have a fantastic view. You can walk all around the volcano and also inside it. We recommend wearing good shoes and sun protection.
