Quetzals! and more! - Such a knowledgeable guide! We had several quetzal sightings and help from Albert getting photos through his lens for bragging rights back home. Also, a sloth! And learned many many things about wildlife in Costa Rica.

Great guide - Great tour. Jose was awesome and taught us so much. He took his time with the tour and it felt very relaxed. I don’t think any other company would have been better, I highly recommend. I will say monteverde you may not see as much as Santa Elena in my experience, but it’s a beautiful forest and we enjoyed it highly.

Highly recommend this tour! - Highly recommend this tour! You can walk yourself through the canopy but probably wouldn’t see anything - our guide pointed out all sorts of birds and animals we couldn’t have spotted ourselves. He went above and beyond so that we could see a quetzal which was a really special opportunity. Was super friendly and communicative, had great English and knew the names of every plant/animal we saw. 100% worth it

Wonderful informative tour guide - Mauricio was very informative. It was very wet and windy and midday so the fauna was minimal. Nonetheless, he explained so many things to us about the cloud forest and the flora. He knows his stuff!
He did find some wonderful animals. Mot mot, copperyheaded hummingbird, tarantula, flycatchers.

Great nature tour in Monteverde Cloud Forest... even on a rainy day! - Great nature tour in the beautiful Monteverde Cloud Forest. A windy, rainy day but our guide showed us so much. We learned about plants , insects, birds, some mammals and the life of the forest in general. Our guide was so interesting, and the time passed so fast! The hummingbirds at the end were beautiful too.

Night tour - The guide and owners were fabulous. We started out with a brief tutorial on making tortillas and after a delicious snack on the tortillas we followed the guide on paths while he found numerous different species of frogs as well as lizards, a few snakes and a sloth. Most the animals were hard to see but he was great at finding them. It was a great experience and we highly recommend the tour.

Avoid Unintended Embarrassment - Initially, I wasn't going to write this review because the tour wasn't a bit challenging. It clearly states when you book that the cost of the tour does not include the cost of the park. What I did not read and could not find was how to pay the park entrance fee. Foolishly, I thought you could pay at the meeting point. Once there I was informed that was incorrect. Our guide said he would speak with the man at entry. When I checked back he said it was taken care of. However, when I went to enter the park I was called out, saying I couldn't enter. There was some miscommunication, which I am still uncertain of. I tried to explain that I had asked about the entry fee, explaining I had misunderstood. He repeatedly said no, I had told him I paid for something else (I never understood what exactly) and did not say I hadn't paid the park entry fee. Ultimately, the man at the entry point helped me buy a pass online as that entire weekend was sold out online (he had said the dates didn't matter much). I was able to enter and do the tour. It was a fine tour and we saw a variety of things. Admittedly, the miscommunication at the beginning put a bit of a damper on the entire experience and it was not what it could have been.
I absolutely believe this was just a miscommunication that was not handled as well as it could have been. The company seems reputable and I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from going. What I would like is for other people doing this tour to know how to get a ticket.
You can buy tickets online in advance. When I attempted this days prior to the tour, the weekend was sold out. Which was why I intended to purchase in person. I took a taxi to the cloud forest and he dropped me at the meeting point. If you have not purchased your ticket in advance, you need to know that you MUST stop at the Harriot Powell Visitor Center! Please do not skip this step so you can avoid miscommunication and unintended embarrassment.
