- Mirador de Orosi - The journey continues to the enchanting and picturesque Orosí Valley, encircled by beautiful mountains and a variety of crops such as coffee and sugar cane. This area was a significant settlement during the colonial era, witnessing numerous historical events including pirate attacks, earthquakes, and floods, as well as the influence of the Franciscan orders who were pivotal in the evangelization process and the construction of the first Catholic churches in the country.
During this tour, visitors will stop at the Orosi Valley viewpoint, a place that offers tranquility, positive energy, and stunning views, with numerous spots in the park to relax and connect with this magnificent location.
- Ruinas de Ujarras - The Ruins of Ujarrás feature the remnants of a colonial church in Costa Rica. This lime and stone church was modest in size, with a clay tile roof. The Ruins of Ujarrás are the only remains of the first church built in Costa Rica during the 17th century, cherished as a relic from the colonial period. This site holds great significance as it was once a settlement of the Huetar indigenous people, abandoned in 1833.
The indigenous population of Ujarrás became extinct in the early 18th century, transforming it into a mestizo town. Florencio del Castillo, who served as President of the Cortes of Cádiz, was born here. Thanks to his efforts, Ujarrás was established as a town in 1813.
Due to several fever epidemics, the town of Ujarrás was deserted between 1832 and 1833, with its residents relocating to the area now known as Llanos de Santa Lucía, today Paraíso.
