Thank you Outback ATV - Incredible experience! We had a side by side for a family of 6. Super tour given by Jose Francisco. 4 adults, 2 kids (10, 7). Fun trip and cool photos / animal spotting.

Nice ride to see volcano - Very nice ATV ride. Hot in some areas and cooler up at top of mountain. We wore jeans. Not a super fast ride but you should know how to drive a car and well. Young Asian girl in front of us could not handle the SUV and rode off the road at the beginning of the trail. There are areas that are only taped off to signal that you would go over a cliff. But if you are familiar with driving, not an issue to drive to the opposite side of the trail.

Fun ATV tour with great views - The ATV tour in the area around La Fortuna was a thoughtful and exciting tour. We combined riding in the forest roads and a cultural heritage stop with scenic vistas overlooking the Arenal volcano and rolling hills in the countryside. Our guide was also an excellent photographer and made it a very fun morning!

Amazing Experience! - This ATV tour is an awesome way to see La Fortuna. We had the perfect-sized group, a friendly and informative tour guide, and were brought to a lake at the end of the tour to go swimming. Definitely recommend extending for the 3rd hour to see the volcano up close - it was beautiful!

Great Activity for Beginners and Experienced Riders! - So much fun! And very beginner friendly, not difficult at all to get the hang of driving the 4 wheelers! Host explains gears and during the ride they let you know when to change gears! They will also help with taking photos on your phone as well and they are pretty good at taking photos.

Great time! Here’s what the day looked like plus things I would do differently if I did it again. - We booked a 2 hour tour, initially, however we decided to upgrade to the 3 hour tour once we got there. It’s an additional $40 for us (we shared an atv) and I would highly recommend it. The two hour tour included meeting the Meluka tribe. The tribe showed off their art work and a bit about their culture. You got to try a sample of their local drink. I can’t remember the drinks name but it was good. Then you had the opportunity to shop and look at their hand made art work. After that you loaded up and went out into the countryside to get some amazing views of mount Arenal from a distance. After we were done with the country side we drove back in, where we stopped at a creek to cool off and wash up. It was a cool experience and I would suggest water shoes for this portion. Then they split us into 2 groups, the 2 hr tour group and the 3 hour tour group. The two hour ended their tour there to my knowledge. We went to an ecological park where we started going up into Mt. Arenal. It was an awesome ride up. Once up there, we had a 330 m hike up to the highest point you’re legally allowed to go. It had a great view and the guide shared a bit of history as well as what you could see of the local geography from that point. Then we finished our tour with a short hike back down followed by returning to where we started. A few things to note before you go. I would suggest you pack goggles or something as the dust (dry season) was a bit much on the eyes. Regular sunglasses did not help. Additionally, I would wear clothes I didn’t mind getting wet/dirty. The other thinking is that close toed shoes was not a requirement as the atvs were automatic.

Scenic and well organized, but lacking energy from the guides - The ATV experience itself was enjoyable, with stunning nature scenes and a well-organized tour. The trails were scenic, and everything ran smoothly in terms of logistics and safety. However, the guides lacked energy and enthusiasm, which made the experience feel more like a solo ride than a guided adventure. A bit more engagement from them could have made the tour much more memorable. If you’re just looking for a structured ATV ride through beautiful landscapes, this is a solid option. But if you’re hoping for an interactive and dynamic experience, it may fall a little flat.
