Additional Information

The Three Cities refer to the combined fortified cities of Cospicua, Vittoriosa, and Senglea. The trip begins with a drive past Cospicua and on to Vittoriosa. Senglea, the third city, also known as Civitas Invicta, is famed for its successful resistance during the Great Siege of 1565 against the Ottomans.

Next, the journey takes you to the ir-Razzett l-Antik Qormi, built in 1743. Here, the wine tasting experience starts with a history lesson amidst authentic artefacts, followed by a walk-through on the winemaking process where you’ll learn how the local grapes are pressed, fermented, and eventually turned into wine. You’ll taste a variety of Maltese wines under the guidance of professional staff in the restaurant, paired with local appetisers such as Maltese bread and cheese.

The tour is available in English, French, German & Italian on Tuesday, while Friday tours are conducted solely in English.

Great Tour - Pick up from our hotel. Great commentary throughout the tour. The wine tasting took place in a lovely building. There was 3 wine tastings and the food was simple but lovely and complimented the food. We didn't buy any wine but the prices were reasonable. Got dropped back at our hotel. The Three Cities Tour was very enjoyable.

Cultural Maltese experience - Our tour guide was very informative and there was so much Maltese culture to see. Beautiful scenery and great to get some of the history behind it all. The wine tasting was in an authentic winery which had a cosy feel to it. Would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Malta: The three cities and wine tasting. - Staying at St. Paul’s Bay, we booked our trip at the office on I’m-Qawra Street, where Dolly recommended us 3 different trips which we all ended up doing due to Dolly being so passionate about her job and her sparkling personality! The walk through the cities was beautiful and not at all too long. Soon after, we got to the wine tasting which sadly lasted a little too short in my personal opinion. It all felt a bit rushed but overall it was a pretty good tasting, seeing as we ended up buying some of the bottles of wine that we got to taste. Our guide, Mark, was also very knowledgeable and fun to be around, he definitely knew what he was doing. A relaxed, short trip. Perfect if you want to combine it with another journey on the same day, and most certainly worth the small price of €40- p/p. Kind regards Benny, Nancy, Zoë, and Mats

3 cities and wine tasting - We had a lovely time but spent time waiting for people who were late and the driver was not only very impatient and loud but took phone calls while the guide was talking about the surroundings. The guide who was very knowledgable and good fun also took more than a few phones calls mid talking which I found a bit annoying but overall it was a nice experience.

Good tour with top notch wine and food at the end - The description accurately describes the experience, but I feel a bit of time in all 3 cities would’ve been nice (rather than drive by’s). The photos of wine barrels are also puzzling as is the mention of being shown a wine cellar, as we weren’t. That said, the guide (Maria I think), was excellent, a lovely lady and clearly Maltese through and through, she really knew her history and was very informative and passionate. The walking tour was very well thought out and executed, taking us through some amazing little streets and beautiful sites. Unfortunately our van broke down on the way back (poor George!), but to their credit the tour operator got a replacement van their very quickly and we got an extra impromptu bonus tour on the way back to Sliema! All in all a very enjoyable tour.

Great wine! - The guide did a good job of explaining and keeping the tour interesting. The bus tour was a great way to see the island. I enjoyed sampling wine.
