Located just a 15-minute walk from the city center, Rebel City was established in 2020 and is revitalizing Cork’s historic docklands. Housed in the old Ford Car Factory, a long-dormant Cork landmark, the distillery blends past innovations with future creations. This is a fusion of two creative cultures. Our first release, Maharani Gin, honors our founders’ heritage, hailing from Cork, Ireland, and Kerala, India, where the husband and wife team, Robert and Bhagya, originate. ‘Maharani’ means queen and pays homage to strong women everywhere, as well as to the women’s organic farming cooperative in Kerala, India, from which we source our botanicals. We also produce Ireland’s only Absinthe.
