Highlights
  • Zinkglobal - The experience begins at Toldboden, one of Copenhagen’s most charming up-and-coming areas, where you can grab a cup of coffee at your own expense (just be sure to arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the scheduled time). From here, we’ll guide you through some of the older parts of Copenhagen’s historic city center, showcasing some of the city’s most famous and significant sites.
  • Gefionspringvandet - As we proceed, we’ll walk through a park that honors the heroes of World War II before reaching the Gefion Fountain, which is said to mark the origin of Copenhagen, or at least the land it occupies (hint: It’s a place we Danes consider quite dark!).
  • The Little Mermaid - This will take us a bit further out for a stunning view, where you’ll also experience some of Copenhagen’s magical fairy-tale charm as you greet The Little Mermaid and learn why her story is not quite what it seems.
  • Kastellet - Next, we’ll enjoy a beautiful view of Copenhagen from the banks of the Citadel, which looks like something out of Game of Thrones. While you take it all in, your guide will captivate you with stories about Copenhagen and Denmark’s rise and fall over its more than 1000-year history.
  • Amalienborg Museum - With our fairy-tale charm at its peak, we’ll delve into the real-life fairy tale of the Danish royalty. Hear insider stories about the Royal Guards and fascinating tales about the royals at Amalienborg — the Royal Palace — that only those who have served in the guard know. Here, you’ll even get to play a little game about where the current head of the royal family, Daisy, lives.
  • Frederiks Kirke (Marmorkirken) - From Amalienborg, you’ll also be treated to views of Copenhagen’s majestic Marble Church, perfectly aligned with the Royal Palace. Many locals consider it the most beautiful church in Copenhagen!
  • Copenhagen Opera House - As we exit, we’ll be greeted by a charming green garden and the majestic Copenhagen Opera House across the harbor. Your guide will take you through this lovely green space and explain why Copenhageners were initially not too pleased with these impressive places!
  • Nyhavn - Next, we’ll stroll through the picturesque harbor canal known as New Harbor (or Nyhavn in Copenhagen), where we’ll enjoy the view from a unique vantage point that will surely make your social media followers or friends and family back home envious. Don’t hesitate to ask your guide to help capture that perfect picture of this iconic scene from this beautiful city, while you hear about the harbor’s colorful and somewhat charming history.
  • Copenhagen King’s Square - With a growing appetite for more, you’ll cross one of Copenhagen’s most famous and historic squares, with views of Denmark’s first shopping mall, its most historic hotel, and the magnificent Royal Theatre.
  • Nikolaj Kunsthal - As we navigate through quaint little streets, get ready to crane your neck to admire the spire of one of Copenhagen’s oldest churches.

Jacquelina was an... - Jacquelina was an excellent tour guide--very personable and funny. She shared a broad range of interesting facts about Copenhagen/Denmark as well as personal stories and reflections about her life and her family's experiences in WWII. The route was a little removed from the center of the city and thus a nice overview of the interesting sites located outside the city's central hub.
