One of the best tours ever - Daniel our guide was brilliant and so proud of his neighbourhood. He was very open about the downsides of the favela (drugs and guns) but also very positive about the great community work being done, the achievements of young people and the community. It was a fascinating trip.

Morning well spent - Well organized visit to Favela with a local guide Bruno. The trip included a lot of information about life in favelas, a brief capoeira show by local children and teens from the organization 'Projeto ECOAR' which is part of youth work in favela and the walk downhill out of favela.

Eye opening experience - My teenage boy and I had a great time on the tour. Our guide Bruno came with another lady guide and we felt safe. Bruno is always at the front of the group and the lady guide at the end. Bruno explained many aspects of life in the favela. He told us where it is safe to take pictures and when not to take a picture. It was en eye opening experience and my son felt it was the best experience he had during our time in Rio, better than playing soccer with the local youth academy teams. It gave him a new perspective on life. I highly recommend touring the favela and touring with Bruno.

Favella walking tour - Our guide was Daniel, who was fabulous. He has first hand experience of the favella and was very knowledgeable and is a credit to the tour company. Please be aware, there are a lot of narrow steps therefore if your not very good on your feet, may not be the best tour

People perceive favelas... - People perceive favelas as dangerous but this tour guide made us feel very safe in the favela. He told us when to use phones and when not to, he introduced us to many cool neighbors, it was very amazing for a Brazilian cultural experience. Highly recommend

Great way to explore Rio’s largest favela - Great way to see the largest favela in Rio! Our tour guide (Martin) was very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed views from the top of the favela and walked down through its narrow alleys. The only thing that wasn’t pleasant was the transport van’s AC not working properly on a hot day. Otherwise a great tour that I recommend.
