We start with a prompt pickup in Rio de Janeiro, heading towards Angra dos Reis. Angra, in Portuguese, translates to ‘small bay’ - an apt moniker considering it forms a part of a larger sprawl of bays and myriad islands. We start with a prompt pickup in Rio de Janeiro, heading towards Angra dos Reis. Angra, in Portuguese, translates to ‘small bay’ - an apt moniker considering it forms a part of a larger sprawl of bays and myriad islands. Our tour takes us to the most renowned and magnificent amongst these islands - the Ilha Grande. Upon reaching Angra dos Reis, we progress directly to the harbour, preparing for a boat journey amidst the island chain of Ilha Grande. We halt at three distinct locations for a swim, some snorkeling, admiring the stunning islands, observing the transparent water, and appreciating the lush green hues of the Atlantic rainforests. If luck is on our side, we might sight some turtles and a variety of fish. The boat trip includes a lunch stop. The tour includes the tour guide, lunch (excluding drinks and desserts), round trip transfer, and boat tour.
- Children under the age of 4 are complimentary as they must sit on the parent’s lap.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- If requested, you must present a copy of your ID.
- This tour is unavailable on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and Carnival season.
- Snorkeling equipment can be rented on location.
- Duration of the transfer from Rio to Angra dos Reis: approximately 2h30 hours.

Day trip to Ilha - A bit crowed however it is amazing value for the money. Round trip bus ride, buffet lunch that was pretty good and a long boat ride with many stops.
Although we did not see Angra dos Reis

☀️Sunny day at Angra dos Reis - We were very fortunate and had such a beautiful day at Angra dos Reis. The sun was shining and our group was smaller which was amazing as well! We got to see beautiful places! The beach was very lovely and water was just as great for a nice swim! We enjoyed it very much and recommend booking the tour! Just make sure the weather forecast will show sunny day! 😊☀️

A lot of partying - The bus was great. We were about 2 hours late getting there because of traffic and several hours late getting home - again mainly because of traffic. We got home at around 01:30-02:00, and we were the first to get off the bus. Except from the traffic, we waited for maybe 45 minutes after getting off the boat (the walk was 5 minutes). We were waiting for a drunk dude who, when he finally came to the bus, had forgotten his bag on the boat, so we left without him.
The boat ride itself was pretty fun, but it was definitely like a party boat. I probably would not recommend for children or if you are simply looking to have a chill or quiet day. We rented snorkeling gear, but it was quite difficult to see anything at the lagoons, because so many boats, people and anchors were tearing up the sand bottom. We did get to see a lot of fish, because someone brought fish food.

A good discovery of Ilha Grande from Rio - It is a bit touristy (lots of people on the boats), the travel time is long we are far from seeing all the interesting sites of Ilha Grande. But it's a very exotic excursion that's worth it from Rio, if you don't want to spend a night there, and that allows you to appreciate beautiful places, the vegetation of the island, swimming places, fish, etc.

Incredible value, but bring your own food - Very friendly staff, great activities, incredible value. Only con was food sucked :( but everything else was awesome!

When we booked this tour... - When we booked this tour we expected a small group tour where we enjoy a lovely boat ride to multiple islands. Here is how it actually went:
7:30-11:30 in a tour bus picking people up and driving to boat.
12:30-1:30 waiting around with hundreds of people while we wait for them to pay
1:30 get on the boat which was over crowded leaving no seats so people had to sit on middle console. There were about 75 people on the boat.
1:30-2:30 boat ride
2:30 we finally got to spot where we could snorkel and it was nice. We had about 50 minutes at the first stop. Even though we indicated we wanted to snorkel, they didn't have enough. The lady said she mistakenly only got 7.... also snorkeling is an extra cost.
3:15 got to next stop.... here you can pay to jet ski for 5 minutes, swim or lay on the beach.... we had 30 minutes.
3:40 we got to another beach but we're only given 15 minutes...mind you it takes at least 10 for 75 people to get off the boat.
4pm we reached the last stop where we finally got the lunch that was included in the tour. That's 8 1/2 hours you wait for lunch. I think it's intentional because when you get on the bus they tell you lunch isn't until 4 and then give you a menu to buy food, which you really have no choice but to do at that point.
5 pm to 10pm we driving home and drop offs.
That's 10 hours on a bus or waiting around and really only about 2 hours total on the beach.... oh and they charge for life vest....on a boat.
While the locations were beautiful I don't recommend this tour. By the time we reached the locations I had a headache from all the hassle it took to get there.
Also, the tour guide barely interpreted anything to English even though she spoke it so we were often just lost.

Not a pleasant activity I would repeat - This is not an activity I enjoyed for several reasons:
- It takes too long to get there from Rio de Janeiro. We spent about 2 hours picking up people around the city.
- The boat was over-crowded and so if you are looking for a small group activity, this is not it. The boat also got a bit wet but this is partly due to the rainy weather.
- There was loud music and you had to talk loud to be heard.
- The food/lunch is served at 4pm on the last stop on an island which is a bit late. The company does tell you this though. It was okay.
Other than that, you get to visit several islands and beaches and swim with pretty fish. Also, it rained when we went which made it worse but I cannot blame the company for that.

Beautiful but exhausting , absurd prices at selected restaurants and a square too full of people and very loud sound - The beaches of Isla Grande are fantastic but the fact of traveling by bus 5 hours from RJ (go and return) is too tiring unfortunately

Not worth it - -1 star lost for being 49 minutes late and tardiness
-1 star lost for professionalism( asked for an eta and kept saying that it was unfounded for them being late as there was traffic)
-1 star lost for poor communication. The tour guide not speaking English( we had to ask our friends who are bilingual to keep us in the loop)
-3 star for the experience: 3 hour bus ride, to get the the l grande island, from there a boat ride the music was very loud music -my TM about to rupture, the water was not clean, they charge 60 for snorkel rental, three islands 30-50 minutes each, the buffet is basic beans, chicken, fish-very basic.
Advise:
if you are English speaker -do not go
If you want hype fun and experience- do not go there.
If you care about good quality food- do not go
Honestly we confidently would say our worst experience in Brazil.
