The polenta is made by mixing and cooking corn and buckwheat flour, then served with braised meat or with cheeses and melted butter (polenta uncia). Also, try the famous Sciatt, delicious and crispy pancakes with a gooey cheese center.

Great way to get a local experience. - Chiara was our tour guide and she was very nice and knowledgeable. It was fun meeting other people on the tour and enjoying different foods and drinks. Highly recommend if it’s your first time in Como and not sure where to start.

- A Delicious Experience – Highly Recommended!
We had an amazing experience on the food tour in Como with Giada. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and full of charm. Giada is a fantastic guide – warm, knowledgeable, and full of passion for her city and its culinary treasures.
The tour took us to several carefully selected local spots, each offering something unique and authentic. From delicious cheeses and cured meats to freshly made pasta, traditional sweets, and local wines – everything we tasted was absolutely delicious and high quality. Giada explained the origins and traditions behind each dish, which made the experience even more interesting and enjoyable.
What we really appreciated was the personal touch. Giada took the time to get to know the group, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, and created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout the tour. It felt less like a guided tour and more like discovering Como’s food culture with a local friend.
This tour is a must-do if you’re visiting Como. It’s a great way to explore the city through its food, learn about the local culture, and discover hidden gems you might not find on your own. We left full, happy, and with lots of great memories (and recommendations!).

Good look into Local cuisine - We have enjoyed this food tour. We missed the first stop due to mishap in transportation so in the second stop, Mario, our local expert has kindly given us a bottle of wine to share. It was a full course meal from appetisers, wine, mains, gelato and coffee all coming from different places in the town! We also met this lovely family from Florida! I have taken photos for you to see!

Great guide - We had an excellent time sampling a nice variety of local foods.
Chiara was very accommodating as well as knowledgeable. Id recommend going early in your stay in Como as it also gives you an small tour of the city.

Food Tour with Mario - We had a wonderful walking food tour with Mario who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to take us to several neighborhood places in order to experience authentic foods of Como.

Great way to try some new foods - but expected more commentary - The tour was enjoyable, however we were expecting a bit more guidance/commentary from our tour guide (Mario). For several of the stops, there was little explanation about the food we were about to try and/or a connection to the local culture/history. Our group (that didn't know each other) often had to carry the tour with our own questions to the tour guide. He was kind and informative in response, but was not leading the conversation on the tour very often. The last stop was also just getting gelato at the very touristy gelato place on the water in the center of town (with no "extra" commentary) - that stop definitely seemed like something we could've done on our own! We liked the earlier stop at a pizza shop though - and even went back the next day on our own for more delicious pizza! All in all, this tour helped us get out and about in the city (on our arrival day), but we had higher expectations for the tour guide's commentary on local food/culture/history based on similar tours we've done in other cities.
