University of Coimbra - We will start the visit to the city of Coimbra through the University, we will visit the Paço das Escolas, the Joanina Library, São Miguel Chapel and the Royal Palace).
Se Nova Catedral de Coimbra - We will pass by the Sé Nova Cathedral and continue our visit through the historic part of the city.
Old Cathedral of Coimbra (Se Velha de Coimbra) - The Old Cathedral is located in one of the most tourist spots in the city of Coimbra and consequently in one of the oldest places in the history of the Portuguese nation.
Porta da Barbaca - We will pass through the main portal of the ancient walled city of Coimbra.
Igreja de Santa Cruz - At this point, we will talk about Rua da Sofia, Pátio da Iniquiricao and end our guided tour at the beautiful Santa Cruz Church.

Amazing tour! - Renan was probably our favorite tour guide we had on our two week journey through Portugal. His passion & excitement about the history of Coimbra was fantastic, and made the tour so engaging! It’s always nice when you can tell someone truly is invested in what they’re teaching you. We had such a great time touring the university & walking through the old parts of town. Coimbra is a wonderful little city, and I can’t recommend doing this tour with Renan highly enough.

Walking tour of Coimbra University and the city of Coimbra - The tour guide we had for our walking tour of Coimbra University and then some of the city was absolutely amazing!! Renan Souza had such a wealth of knowledge and was captivating in explaining key things that have taken place at the University and particularly the library!! He was clearly excited about the history of this place, sharing many stories about it and helping us more fully appreciate the history of Portugal! After visiting the university with Renan, we went into town and he again had an amazing wealth of knowledge about the buildings we visited! This walking tour was a highlight of our entire time in Portugal. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lisbon/Porto area. Bonnie Hargreaves

Great Tour! - Although Coimbra is a very nice city to view by foot, the old library was most impressive. I was lucky that I was the only client of the guided tour, and Renan was great on showing me around. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Great recommendation on food, foda show, and other places to visit. Highly recommend!

Bernardno knows history! - Bernardo is working on his masters in history and there was no question we asked that he couldn’t answer. He easily took us into the various sites requiring tickets and had enthusiasm for his subject. We had a great time & highly recommend him.

Coimbra town and University - What a treat with Renan, an actual history student from Coimbra University. We learned so much in such a short time. Renan was like a walking encyclopedia, with vast knowledge and charisma. Glad we took this tour.

Great way to add more depth to your visit ! - We had a wonderful walking tour . Not one but strenuous though I was with my 85yo mother . She’s hard of hearing and our guide was exceptionally considerate allowing her to be next to him the whole time . Our guide Bernardo was very knowledgeable, granted he’s a historian . We had visited the majority of the places of the tour the day before on our own , and almost cancelled our walking tour . We’re so glad we didn’t because it gave us greater appreciation , specially if the University of Coimbra . Bernardo gave us a wonderful recommendation of where to have lunch . A place where the locals eat . “ Giro” great food and good price .
