Capture the uniqueness of Coimbra in a couple of hours. - Our guide and story teller, John (in English) was informative and knowledgeable, The walk starts at the top with lovely views and is an easy walk down hill into the old city. I highly recommend this experience to capture the uniqueness of Coimbra.

Informative and attractively narrated - Our guide was Filipe, who was very knowledgeable and gave us an interesting overview of the history of the city, the university, its relation to the city and customs. We covered both cathedrals, the city walls and the Santa Cruz church. Also the group was very small - it was just us!

Imperdivel - The tour was incredible, very enriching to hear stories that you never heard speaking in front of such ancient monuments that tell the history not only of the city, but also of a whole continent. The knowledge of the guide Renan is amazing, in addition to being light and pleasant. Thank you very much.

Mostly an exterior tour of the University. - Very nice tour! We lucked out a bit due to the fact that it was raining and we were the only two, so we ended up with a private tour. They call this a city tour, but mostly it is a tour of the University with a couple of other sites added in. Also, this tour doesn't include access to the interior of the University. Our guide was Very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, and very patient with all of our questions. He explained what the interior held and showed us pictures, but all the interior is on another tour. Bit disappointed in this aspect, we thought it was only the Library that we wouldn't be able to see. Tip: we were able to obtain tickets there at the University to the interior after our tour even after we were told that the only time available was at 12:30 pm which conflicted with our tour. So, check at the ticket window again if you don't already have the tickets to the other interior attractions like the Library, chapel, science lab and natural sciences museum.

Great Tour Full of History and Fun - Even though the tour didn’t include entry to the Joanina Library, it didn’t disappoint at all! There’s so much history and fascinating stories to discover in Coimbra. The guide made the experience both educational and entertaining. A fantastic way to explore the city!
