Must Do in Coffin Bay - This tour is highly recommended even if you are not necessarily an oyster lover. Arthur - our French guide - designed the tour very well and responded to all the questions of our small group. I would definitely recommend the tour to friends who want to visit Coffin Bay.

Excellent, funny and enjoyable. - The Coffin Bay Oyster farm wadding tour and tasting experience was excellent. Our guide Elka was lovely, funny and very informative. Length of the tour was great. Very informative oyster tour - We had the perfect day to do the oyster wading tour. ALEX was an amazing tour guide even though he wasn’t a local ! His knowledge was exceptional and he was unfazed by any of the questions asked. The oysters served didn’t disappoint so we quickly shucked another dozen ! Afterwards we did the deal at Oysters HQ with more oysters consumed. Also had the seafood platter there for dinner. Such a wonderful day !

A must do in Coffin Bay - Such an awesome experience... fun.....informative & tasty. Wading out is easy to do for all ages as long as waders fit. We paid $60 each for tour and added drinks which were served to us when seated in the oyster shucking.. floating.. deck.. thing. Learnt so much about how oysters are farmed and how to shuck them. Would definitely say this is a must do when visiting Coffin Bay.

I Know It Sounds Crazy But … - There’s something totally exotic about donning waders, walking waist deep in Coffin Bay’s clear waters, to be trained how to shuck an Oyster, while sipping champagne! But it was fun. Freddie, our South American guide was funny, but very good at teaching us. It’s always fun to cross paths with fellow travellers on these types of shared experiences too. Professional set up at the gateway of the Coffin Bay National Park, where we spent the rest of the day!

A Must Have experience in Port Lincoln, South Australia - This was a great tour from the moment we booked through to the end of the tour, well hosted by Freddy. After donning our waders and walking out to the shucking and tasting platform, Freddy gave us an oral history of the Oyster Farm and explained the farming process. It was very interesting for those of us who have only eaten them, not wondered about how they came to be on our restaurant plate! Freddy then explained the professional method of shucking an oyster and gave us a manageable quantity to shuck, then taste. Delightful! We had never met our fellow shuckers before, but Freddy’s sense of humour ensured that our group (four couples - strangers to each couple) were soon involved and having a great time together. We thoroughly recommend a tour with Coffin Bay Oyster Farms.

A Great Education on Oysters, and a Fun Group Event - This is really a blast, especially if you LOVE oysters and wonder about how they are farmed. You start by donning some waders and wading out into the water adjacent to the long lines of oyster boxes. Then you climb onto a semi-submerged series of tables and benches where you learn the intricacies of shucking oysters. Our guide, who was from Italy, could not have been better informed, and was a great instructor. We were all give four or five oysters to shuck (and eat), and it was a fun experience, made even better by the alcoholic drinks that could be ordered in advance. After the experience, we went to the wonderful restaurant that is associated with the experience, where we dined on oysters cooked in various wonderful ways. Plus more Champagne, which was nice. All in all, a really fun way to spend a few hours in a beautiful (but remote) place.
