The only way to see Rome in the Summer - Amazing way to see Rome especially in the Summer. Our guide, Giuseppe, knew his history so well and provided so much context. We weren't obligated to get out and walk so made it back with plenty of time back on the boat. It was rushed but we only had six hours (four, if you account for the ride from Civitavecchia!)

Seamless and Stunning Day in Rome – Exceptional Private Tour - Our private tour from Civitavecchia to Rome with Shore Tours of Italy was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly, on time, and completely stress-free — exactly what you hope for during a cruise stop.
Our driver and guide for the day, Federico, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, easy to work with, and kept us perfectly on schedule while still giving us time to truly enjoy each site. His expert driving and calm presence made navigating Rome’s busy streets feel effortless.
We were able to visit all the major highlights: the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Federico even took us to a great local spot for gelato, which was a fun and refreshing bonus!
The drive into Rome was beautiful, and the vehicle was clean and comfortable. Special thanks again to Monica, who helped us plan every detail ahead of time. She customized our itinerary to fit what we wanted to see and made the entire process easy and enjoyable.
We had zero issues throughout the day and felt truly taken care of. I highly recommend Shore Tours of Italy for anyone looking to make the most of their time in Rome. It was an unforgettable experience!

Great shore excursion day in Rome from Civitavecchia - This was a very good tour visiting the main highlights of Rome. Our guide was excellent. His name was Lorenzo - highly recommend!
He was right on time at the ship, good driver, nice Mercedes van.
There were 4 of us.
We stopped to go inside the Colosseum. We also went to inside in the Pantheon.
We saw Piazza Navona.
We went to the Spanish steps and walked all along them.
We stopped for a lovely lunch at a restaurant recommended by Lorenzo- excellent meal.
We went to Saint Peter Square and walked all around.
we did everything we wanted to do
very, very happy with our day in Rome,

We had a fantastic day in... - We had a fantastic day in Rome thanks to our wonderful driver, Federico! The directions for meeting him off the ship were clear and easy to follow, which made for a smooth start to the day. Federico kept us on schedule and even coordinated with our Colosseum tour guide, making the whole experience seamless.
As we drove through the city, he pointed out landmarks and shared interesting facts, giving us a great overview of Rome’s incredible history. He made sure we saw all the major highlights and even introduced us to a few hidden gems along the way.
Federico’s friendly personality, great communication, and local insight made our day in Rome truly memorable.

Wonderful way to see Rome - This excursion ended up being exactly what I wanted! A little bit of a rough start, since I was messaged the wrong name and phone number for our guide (twice), but our actual guide, Lorenzo, was easy to find and very personable. He took us to all the places we had hoped to see, including one off the beaten track, and gave us great information along the way. It was so nice to have our car nearby and waiting for us when we were finished visiting the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Square, and so on. He also directed us to a restaurant where we had very delicious and authentic food. All around a really excellent experience!

It was amazing experience... - It was amazing experience for us in Rome with our driver Maurizio. He gave great history of the beautiful city throughout the day and was accommodating to adjust the schedule based on our needs. We are travelling with our 8 years old so sometimes we aren’t really on time for our meet up but he’s flexible and be there waiting for us on time. Would definitely recommend to others !

Highly Recommended. Cruise port to Roma. Private experience. - Fabrizio was amazing, professional, knowledgeable, punctual and experienced. Worth every penny. Roma is a beast of a city. Mind blowing history making it one of the busiest cities in the world, if not the busiest. If this is in your budget, we highly recommend. We saw all the major attractions: Colosseum, Fountain of Trevi, Spanish Steps, Roman Forums/ Palestine Hill, St Peters Square. We did purchase Colosseum tickets separately which is fine. We also saw all the other magnificent buildings as we travelled between the city so you really get a sense of the Roman history. The private tour saves a lot of walking time and stress and everyone was happy even in the immense crowds of Rome. This was my second time in Rome and was worth every penny. Thank you Fabrizzio for taking such great care of our family during our port stop in Rome.

Roma - Federico was fabulous! Patient and knowledgeable! We did Vatican museum first then he drove us to the Basilica. The tour was perfect. Today was a very special day and the memories that we made will last a lifetime!

Fantastic experience to enjoy Rome while cruising! - We had a fantastic day experiencing some historical & cultural highlights of Rome! Our guide Ricardo was a wonderful guide, entertaining us with historical information from the time we were picked up from our cruise port in Civitavecchia & through the day exploring the city of Rome. We enjoyed the experience of walking around the Colosseum, spending a few hours enjoying Vatican museum, the Sistine Chapel, St Paul’s Basilica, Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain & the Pantheon. Would highly recommend this tour & this guide!

A little odd but effective - The experience was a little odd. The guide took us to the back side of the Colosseum along a backroad for us to take pictures at a distance. He then took us to vendors that it felt like he had a partnership with in order for us to spend money with them (high pressure sales at a market, “special” coffee, and “at least two scoops” of gelato). All of these items took time off our tour so we didn’t get to see the Pantheon. He seemed annoyed that we ate inside the Vatican museum which made us run out of time to eat “street food.” But, he did show us some cool things we wouldn’t have known to ask about or see. And he got us back to the ship in time. The van was air conditioned. And he adjusted a pick up stop for us at the Vatican so we could avoid backtracking. All in all, just kind of odd but we did enjoy ourselves.
