Tsukiji Tokyo Food Tour; Authentic eats with George - 5-Star Review: Unforgettable Tokyo Foodie Tour with George – A Must-Do!
I just got back from the most incredible food adventure in Tokyo, and I have to shout it from the rooftops: book a tour with George! He’s an absolute gem of a guide – fluent in both English and Japanese, super friendly, and knows every hidden corner of the city like the back of his hand.
We kicked off at the famous Tsukiji outer market (even post-relocation, the energy is unreal), where George took us straight to his trusted vendors for the freshest tuna I’ve ever tasted – melt-in-your-mouth, non-tourist prices, and zero lines. From there, we hopped to a tiny back-alley spot for perfectly charred chicken skewers (yakitori), then devoured steaming gyoza at a family-run dumpling shop that locals swear by.
The grand finale? George’s personal favorite: A5 Wagyu beef skewers for just ¥1500 each – juicy, rich, and worth every yen. No overpriced tourist traps, no language barriers, just pure culinary bliss.
George’s passion for food (and Tokyo) is contagious. He tailored the pace to our group, shared fun stories, and even gave us tips for the rest of our trip. If you love authentic eats and hate tourist traps, this is the tour for you.
Highly recommend – 10/10!

Great tour with George - We did the Tsukiji Fish Market tour with #teamGeorge. He was very knowledgeable about the fish market and temples. He knew where to take people so they wouldn’t get gouged. He was funny, knew how to relate to people and kept it very casual.

Lots of food and fun in the fish market - Our tour guides Mao and Kenny were awesome! They took us around the fish market and we got to try so many delicious dishes! The tour made exploring the market less intimidating as a first timer. Would recommend! Thanks Mao and Kenny!

Great tour of fish market - Mao was a great host. We were able to sample a wide variety of foods at the market, which was just the right amount of food and it was just the right amount of time. She was very patient with all of us we even saw a Buddhist temple.
