- The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace (Edo Castle Ruin) - Surrounded by the remnants of the Edo Castle’s main tower, these gardens feature seasonal flowers such as roses, bamboo, cherry blossoms, tea trees, and orchards of traditional species. It is a vast, sprawling garden located in central Tokyo and is the only section of the inner palace accessible to the public.
- Senso-ji Temple - Known as one of Tokyo’s most vibrant and well-loved temples, legend has it that in 628, two brothers retrieved a statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, from the Sumida River. Despite returning it to the river, the statue always came back to them, leading to the construction of Senso-ji nearby in 645, making it Tokyo’s oldest temple.
- Tokyo Skytree - As the focal point of Tokyo Skytree Town in Sumida City Ward, near Asakusa, this structure stands at 634 meters tall (634 can be read as “Musashi,” a historical name for the Tokyo area). It is Japan’s tallest structure and was the world’s second tallest at its completion. At its base lies a large shopping complex with an aquarium.
- Takeshita Street - Situated in Tokyo’s Harajuku district, Takeshita Street is a lively pedestrian shopping street renowned for its vibrant fashion boutiques, trendy cafes, and unique street food stalls. It attracts both locals and tourists eager to discover the latest fashion trends and quirky items. The street is often bustling with young people exploring its diverse shops, making it a center of Tokyo’s youth culture.
