- Canterbury Region - Crossing the Rakaia bridge and moving inland towards mid-Canterbury, travelers will observe the region’s distinctive braided river ecosystem and patchwork fields. The plains host a variety of activities, including crop cultivation, viticulture, dairy farming, and livestock production.
- Fairlie - Situated in the delightful farming township of Fairlie, this stop is a favorite among visitors. It is particularly breathtaking in autumn when the trees lining the streets and Burkes Pass turn a vibrant orange. Here, guests can savor a renowned Fairlie Bakehouse pie, with the classic steak and cheese being a team favorite!
- Lake Tekapo - The next stop is Lake Tekapo. Encircled by the Southern Alps and the Mackenzie District’s unique tussocked landscape, visitors are treated to panoramic views. From late November to early January, the famous lakeshore is adorned with clusters of wild lupins. During this stop, the tour will visit one of New Zealand’s most photographed spots; the Church of the Good Shepherd.
- Lake Pukaki - The final stop before reaching Aoraki Mt Cook National Park is Lake Pukaki. With its colors shifting from icy to deep blue depending on the weather, this glacier-fed lake is distinct from other alpine lakes in the area. On clear days, enjoy unobstructed views of Aoraki rising from the lake’s edge.
- Aoraki Mount Cook National Park (Te Wahipounamu) - Welcome to Aoraki Mt Cook National Park! Upon arrival, guests can choose to embark on the Tasman Glacier Viewpoint Track or explore Mt Cook Village, taking in sights such as the Visitor Centre and Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre. Alternatively, for those preferring an aerial perspective, a scenic flight can be arranged (booked and sold separately).
Tasman Glacier Viewpoint Track - This track leads through old terminal moraines of the Haupapa, offering stunning views of the glacier, surrounding river, and Tasman Lake.
*Please note that due to potential delays from other customers or road conditions, the time allocated in Aoraki Mt Cook National Park for exploration may be less than advertised. This may mean that completing walks in full might not be possible. The friendly guide will assist with the best options available on the day. At 2:15pm, please follow their instructions as they will provide the collection time to begin the return journey to Ōtautahi.
