- Canterbury Plains - Leaving Christchurch, the tour proceeds through the remarkable Canterbury Plains, showcasing the stunning New Zealand farmland and countryside along the way.
- Lake Tekapo - After passing through Geraldine, the route leads to the renowned blue waters of Lake Tekapo. To reach this destination, the tour traverses impressive alpine passes offering breathtaking views. Upon arrival at Tekapo, the view of the lake is truly awe-inspiring. A quick stop is made for photos at the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd.
- Lake Pukaki - Heading west, the tour enters Aoraki National Park, where Lake Pukaki comes into view. This lake is one of the bluest you’ll ever see, beautifully set against the backdrop of Aoraki/Mt Cook and the Southern Alps. There is a stop for photos and to admire the stunning scenery. It’s easy to see why many scenes from Lord of the Rings were filmed nearby, and these locations will be pointed out.
- Aoraki Mount Cook National Park (Te Wahipounamu) - Within the national park, there is 2.5 hours of free time to enjoy walks/hikes or optional activities. Recommended options include: Kea Point Track, Blue Lakes, Tasman Glacier Walk, or scenic flights (offering aerial views and a landing on the Tasman Glacier), or visiting the Mt Cook Visitor Centre & Hermitage Hotel. Whatever the choice, the tour ensures pick-up and drop-off, providing excellent care.
- Lake Pukaki - The journey continues back through the picturesque Mt Cook highway towards the ever-changing glacier-fed lake.
- High Country Salmon - Departing Aoraki/Mt Cook Village and heading back to Queenstown, there is a stop at High Country Salmon, a local salmon farm, where visitors can feed the fish and sample some of New Zealand’s freshest salmon.
- Lindis Pass - Ascending in altitude, Lindis Pass offers spectacular views down the valleys. It is one of only three alpine roads through the otherwise impassable Southern Alps.
- Jackson Orchards - During the summer months, as the tour nears Queenstown, there is often a stop at Jacksons Orchard to taste or purchase delicious local fruit or real fruit ice cream.
- Kawarau Suspension Bridge - Approaching Queenstown, the tour passes through the stunning Kawarau Gorge, offering breathtaking views, the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, and the famous Roaring Meg Lookout.
- Queenstown - Unfortunately, the tour concludes as it arrives in Queenstown, where farewells are exchanged.
