This tour was more than I... - This tour was more than I expected. Before visiting the film location of a movie you wonder how real it was and how much was cgi. On this tour you find out Sir Peter took a lot of time and effort to find places that where the perfect sites for the films. As soon as you arrive at Edoras fim location you are amazed at just how stunning New Zealand is. What made this tour so special was our guide Nick. He had great incite into the movies and helped us be a part of its magic. What a great experience.

Beautiful scenery and highly informed guide. - Excellent guide and beautiful trip. I'm not a LOTR fan myself but rather went just for the scenery and was not disappointed.
Our guide was very knowledge and entertaining. Learnt a lot about the filming of LOTR along with the history of the area.
Overall it was fantastic experience and one I'd highly recommend

Highly Recommend LOTR Journey to Edoras from Christchurch - Great experience to see where they had the Riders of Rohan capital, Edoras…
While the weather was a little wet, the Tour Guide Nick really brought the experience to life…
I highly recommend it for even non-LOTR fans, as the scenery & experience of climbing Mt Sunday was special

You do not have to be a... - You do not have to be a Lord of the Rings fan to enjoy this tour. There is an uphill trek to get to the main lookout point so wear appropriate footwear and I suggest layered clothing. Walking sticks are provided. The scenery is breathtaking! There are no words, really. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun and very well prepared and organized. As I was undergoing cancer treatment at the time, I hesitated to do the trek but he encouraged and helped me and I did it! Easily one of the best tours in the South Island.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world! - Firstly, Cheryl was an absolute dream tour guide. Funny, thorough, kind, and knowledgeable . She made a beautiful day, even better. There was some confusion about pickup times and places, but we got there in the end and had the most glorious day. LOTR fan or not, book this tour if you want sublime views, landscape, a small group experience, and a caring tour operator.

Edora’s Tour - 10/10 - Our driver, Mark picked us up in his truck and he was fantastic!! So much knowledge about Lord of the Rings. The countryside of NZ is beautiful even though our day was hampered by rain. A 30 min hike to the top of the hill/mound where the movie was filmed and we had swords and the LoR flag for photo ops. A lovely fresh sandwich for lunch along with a delicious piece of carrot cake and a glass of champagne (which was the icing on the cake) as we were wet and a bit cold from the hike. Videos on how the movie was made was really interesting on our way back. Awesome day and would recommend.

Excellent tour - Excellent tour, highly recommend. Nicolas was an exceptional tour guide. Very engaging and informative. We had a full tour of all ages and physical abilities, and at no point did anyone not feel fully included. The tour itself was amazing, especially as big LOTR fans. Also, I really appreciate how they were able to cater for eveyone (in addition to gluten-free, we had vegan, lactose free, and nut allergies in our group, but lunch was provided for all dietary restrictions). Bonus points for a mini tour of the city on the way way. Thanks for a brilliant day!

Awesome experience for fans of LOTR - Awesome Journey to experience going to Edoras from Christchurch. Nick was an absolute pleasure to have as a tour guide who provided us with informative facts about the behind the scenes of LOTR, and especially about the surrounding areas within the Canterbury region. The drive to Edoras was safe, Nick made sure that everyone is okay and following safety protocols and we enjoyed our tour because of that. It was a blast going to Edoras and seeing the wonderful land and mountains that surrounds Edoras.
