- MOA Museum of Art - Atami, a renowned beach and hot spring resort in Shizuoka Prefecture, is our next stop. Upon arrival at Atami Station, a local bus will take us to the famous MOA Museum of Art. Situated on a hilltop, the museum provides stunning views of Sagami Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
The MOA Museum of Art, established in 1982, is celebrated for its remarkable collection of traditional Japanese and East Asian art, including National Treasures like Red and White Plum Blossoms by Ogata Kōrin and works by esteemed artists such as Sesson Shukei and Tawaraya Sōtatsu. The museum also includes a reconstructed teahouse designed by the legendary tea master Sen no Rikyū, a Noh theater, and beautifully landscaped Japanese gardens. Its sophisticated modern architecture, spacious galleries, and sweeping coastal views make it a cultural gem of the region.
- MOA Museum of Art - Visitors can also wander through the exquisite Japanese-style gardens just outside the museum. These tranquil gardens display seasonal beauty—cherry blossoms, azaleas, and wisteria in spring, and vibrant autumn foliage in the fall. For a richer cultural experience, enjoy a traditional Japanese-style lunch or a cup of tea at one of the garden teahouses. (Please note: lunch and drinks are optional and not included in the tour price.)
- Atami Station Ekimae Heiwa Shopping Street - Before boarding the return bullet train to Tokyo, enjoy a leisurely stroll through downtown Atami, home to numerous souvenir shops and local eateries.
