Cucao - During our hike, we will traverse 52 kilometers southwest from Castro to the outskirts of Chiloé National Park, journeying past the picturesque Rahue beach and onward to the Pirulil sector. This area is known for its untamed nature within the Chiloé Archipelago, facing the Pacific Ocean. Our trek will commence amidst thickets, sand dunes, and free-roaming horses. After covering 7 kilometers surrounded by native flora and fauna, we will arrive at the stunning tricolor beach, notable for its distinctive sand, bordering forest, and ocean views. Throughout this excursion, we will have the opportunity to witness ‘the pier of time,’ a celebrated natural installation by a prominent Chilean sculptor.

On this trek, we’ll travel 52 kilometers southwest from Castro, eventually reaching the outskirts of Chiloé National Park by way of the scenic Rahue beach, and moving onward to the Pirulil sector. This area is considered among the most harsh in the whole of Chiloé Archipelago due to its exposure to the Pacific Ocean. From this point, we’ll start our hike through thickets, dunes, and sightings of wild horses. After covering 7 kilometers amidst endemic flora and fauna, we’ll have a chance to witness the magnificent tricolor beach, notable for its unique combination of sand, forest, and sea. Throughout this journey, we’re sure to enjoy some art in a natural setting: a sculpture by a famous Chilean artist known as the pier of time.
