Best tour experience by far! - We did the private tour with Arturo and Omar as our driver and it was easily our best day in Mexico! Arturo was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us to private quieter spots, great photo ops, and shaded areas. He let us go at our own pace, as well as took many photos of us at the temple and at the cenote! Lunch was provided at a delicious authentic Mexican/mayan restaurant as well as snacks and drinks along the way. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour!

Absolute Adventure Mexico - Chichen Itza Express Private Tour - MUST DO! - This was the second of two excursions that my wife and I booked with Absolute Adventure Mexico during our week in Playa del Carmen (we also enjoyed the Tulum Ruins and Snorkeling in Cenote excursion). This was our first trip to Mexico despite our being seasoned travelers, and expanding our knowledge of Mayan culture while visiting the Yucatan Peninsula was important to us. Our pickup was at 6:15 a.m. (very early!) but a worthwhile necessity given the 2.25-hour drive to the Chichen Itza site. We were privileged to have Alex as our guide (second time in three days!) and Enrique as our driver. Alex and Enrique were on time and well prepared with water for the long drive. The van was clean and in excellent condition, and throughout the trip there and back, Enrique drove responsibly and carefully, the latter important given that road conditions were not always ideal. Alex spent time during the early portion of the drive discussing the Mayan civilization at the time of Chichen Itza and details about what we could expect about the site. This foundational knowledge was important to my wife and me; having spent time with us on an excursion two days prior, Alex had already developed a rapport with us and gave us all we could have asked for. This is where I should probably mention that my wife and I were the only passengers in the van and part of the tour. Two adults and one deeply knowledgeable guide is a recipe for a great experience! We stopped for coffee and bathrooms along the way and arrived at the site well before its 8 a.m. opening (noting that we change time zones and get one hour back en route). We were among the first visitors of the day and were able to take photos of El Castillo close to sunrise and with few photo-bombers. This is why one should arrive early! In total, we spent 4.5 hours visiting the many different ruins throughout this lost city (who knew?) and emerged with a deeper understanding of how the Mayan civilization operated. Alex was truly fantastic in this regard. He is the kind of person with whom you would enjoy a casual meal for the opportunity to ask questions and learn not only about his knowledge of history and the region but also his own life. Alex is a really good person on top of being an effective tour guide. Visiting Chichen Itza is a must-do for first-time visitors to the Yucatan Peninsula. I began the experience knowing very little and was made the wiser for it. Absolute Adventure Mexico, my wife and I are grateful for the experience you gave us. Please continue to maintain a high bar for hiring tour guides, as those like Alex make these experiences successful for your clients.

Informative and relaxing! - Alex and Rodrigo were excellent with our family. Alex gave us so much great information and history about the ruins. He made it work for all of us - both young and old. Lots of breaks and bathroom stops on the drive. We loved this trip!

Our guide, Juan, provided us with wonderful insights during our visit to Chichén Itzá. He was very passionate about teaching us about the Maya civilization as he competently answered all of our questions. We were never bored, which is quite a feat for a whole day tour. This is one of the best private tours we've ever had so many thanks to Juan for making this a very worthwhile use of our vacation time. Thanks to our driver, Enrique, as well for delivering us safely on all our stops.

Clearly, cold face towels are completely unnecessary and does not affect the quality of the tour. It’s simply a “nice to have.”

Brought to life the history of the Mayan civilisation. - We wanted a chance to enjoy the magic of Chichen Itza without the crowds and be able to learn about its history and the Mayan culture in a more personal way and be able to ask questions as we explored. Chris ensured this happened. He was very knowledgable and friendly and brought the history to life in his explanations. It was wonderful to be looked after so well. Carlos our driver gave us a comfortable ride and made us feel safe and secure. Many thanks.

Private Express Tour Chichen Itza from Playa Del Carmen - Easy early pick up at 5:30am at the hotel entrance. Alex and the driver were already waiting for us. We stopped for two bathroom breaks and some snacks on the way there. Alex told us all about the background and history of Chichen Itza during the drive. We arrived at the Chichen Itza entrance 15mins before opening. Alex had already entrance tickets so we were on of the very first visitors who could enter the sight. The atmosphere that Chichen Itza provides when no one else is there is incredible. Worth the early get up and a memory for life. It is not the same anymore when the huge crowds arrive at little after. Alex showed us the whole area and stop at every interesting point including the cenote. We took beautiful pictures and also enjoyed the time to look at the souvenirs that the local folks had to offer.

Awesome - My wife and I love history and we also wanted to explore Mexico, not just stay on the resort. We booked this a little nervous not knowing really how it would be spending an entire day with a stranger…Man I can honestly say this was the best part of our vacation. Alex and Omar were awesome. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone coming here. Alexis knew a ton and had the timing for the whole trip down perfectly. For anyone scrolling this is a real review. Great experience with excellent guide. - Pick up was smooth and on time. A convenience store stop after our 6 am pick up was perfect for our needs. Our guide, Arturo, was knowledgeable, friendly, easy going, great with kids, and very informative. He guided us through Chichenitza in just the way we needed. We chose our cenote swim based upon his recommendations and enjoyed it tremendously. He helped us avoid the crowds and was flexible in regards to our kids needs. The lunch was excellent... we shopped a little at the end in town all based upon what we wanted to do. The return back to our hotel was smooth. The company Absoute Adventure Mexico is outstanding in their customer service. I had a previous experience in February in cozumel for which we missed the ferry for our tour. This company helped me through it, offered solutions, and gave me a refund when I could not make the tour. Great company.
