Fantastic Trip - Our family enjoyed a wonderful day at Chichen Itza, followed by the Oxman cenote and lunch in Villadolid, with this group. Cristina was an enthusiastic, wonderful tour guide and we really appreciated spending time with her in these magical destinations. I highly recommend getting picked up from the resort at the earliest time offered in order to avoid the heat and crowds at Chichen Itza (especially with kids). I’m sure all of the centers offered are wonderful, but you can’t go wrong with Oxman. The water color was spectular, and I would return to Yuctan someday even just for exploring new cenotes.

A Great way to visit with kids - A fantastic way to see Chichen Itza with kids. We were picked up early and arrived in time for the site opening. Our guide took us round and explained everything we wanted to know. With kids and it being the middle of Summer, we were interested in understanding the site, but not hanging around unduly. Once we had seen all we wanted to, we went for Lunch nearby (very nice and authentic) and were back in the hotel pool by mid afternoon. Overall a really enjoyable trip, we learnt lots about the culture and history and the kids enjoyed it without getting too hot or bored hanging about.

Go see one of the 7 wonders of the world 2025 and use Absolute Adventures tour company - One of the most amazing tours I've ever been on. Our tour guide (Joshua) was so knowledgeable and so patient with my endless questions not only about the archeological site but about local interests and factoids. Highly recommend this company because of the great service and knowlege.

Great tour with a wonderful guide! Nice to avoid the crowds and heat! - The trip to Chichén Itzá was fantastic - our group of 9 loved it. Alex is very knowledgeable and his enthusiasm for the Maya is contagious. Pick up was right on time and we had no issues at all. Glad to have gotten there early and beaten the heat and the crowds!

Amazing Experience! Don't Miss This! - This was the highlight of our trip to Cancun. We had an amazing day at Chichen Itza! Our tour guide, Arturo, was absolutely wonderful! He and our driver picked us up on time at our hotel, and we were quickly on our way. We stopped for a bathroom break and to stretch our legs once on the way there. They offered us something to drink. There was a cooler in the back of the van full of all kinds of soda and bottled water. The Mexican sodas were delicious! We got to Chichen Itza about 20 minutes before it opened, leaving us plenty of time to apply sunblock and grab more water bottles from the cooler, especially since our driver dropped us off right up front. Arturo handed us our tickets, so we didn't need to wait in any lines. We walked right in and were able to get amazing pictures without anyone else around. Arturo took great family photos of us! We didn't have to worry about not being able to hear because of a large crowd or moving at too slow or too fast a pace. We asked lots of questions and saw everything. We couldn't have asked for a better guide! We stopped whenever we wanted to look at something or go to the bathroom. Before leaving, I asked about going to see the Sacred Cenote. It isn't something that everyone goes to see, but Arturo gladly obliged. We walked over to that area as he continued to tell us more about the history, the Maya people, and the cenote. We left after about 3 - 3.5 hours at Chichen Itza and headed to Valladolid for a delicious lunch. Our son ordered steak tacos, while my husband and I each ordered a traditional Yucatecan dish called panuchos, which is similar to tostadas with beans cooked inside the corn tortillas. There were three to an order, so we ordered a variety with a different meat on each. It was all excellent, especially the appetizer of chips and jalapeño cream! OMG! After lunch, we walked around the town center a bit. It was beautiful! We visited a chocolate museum, did some tasting, and of course bought some chocolate! Then our driver was waiting for us right outside the museum to take us back to our hotel. We had such a wonderful day! I highly recommend this private tour to everyone! It's the only way I ever want to take another tour. If we are ever in the area again, I will definitely use this company again. I'd love to visit Tulum with them. I'd be so happy to have Auturo as our guide once more!

Family day to the pyramid - What a fabulous day out . Alex was so knowledgable and gave us a history of the mayans and chichen itza. He found us shade as much as he could and had regular stops en route . Many thanks

Best tour experience by far! - We did the private tour with Arturo and Omar as our driver and it was easily our best day in Mexico! Arturo was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us to private quieter spots, great photo ops, and shaded areas. He let us go at our own pace, as well as took many photos of us at the temple and at the cenote! Lunch was provided at a delicious authentic Mexican/mayan restaurant as well as snacks and drinks along the way. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour!

Absolute Adventure Mexico - Chichen Itza Express Private Tour - MUST DO! - This was the second of two excursions that my wife and I booked with Absolute Adventure Mexico during our week in Playa del Carmen (we also enjoyed the Tulum Ruins and Snorkeling in Cenote excursion). This was our first trip to Mexico despite our being seasoned travelers, and expanding our knowledge of Mayan culture while visiting the Yucatan Peninsula was important to us. Our pickup was at 6:15 a.m. (very early!) but a worthwhile necessity given the 2.25-hour drive to the Chichen Itza site. We were privileged to have Alex as our guide (second time in three days!) and Enrique as our driver. Alex and Enrique were on time and well prepared with water for the long drive. The van was clean and in excellent condition, and throughout the trip there and back, Enrique drove responsibly and carefully, the latter important given that road conditions were not always ideal. Alex spent time during the early portion of the drive discussing the Mayan civilization at the time of Chichen Itza and details about what we could expect about the site. This foundational knowledge was important to my wife and me; having spent time with us on an excursion two days prior, Alex had already developed a rapport with us and gave us all we could have asked for. This is where I should probably mention that my wife and I were the only passengers in the van and part of the tour. Two adults and one deeply knowledgeable guide is a recipe for a great experience! We stopped for coffee and bathrooms along the way and arrived at the site well before its 8 a.m. opening (noting that we change time zones and get one hour back en route). We were among the first visitors of the day and were able to take photos of El Castillo close to sunrise and with few photo-bombers. This is why one should arrive early! In total, we spent 4.5 hours visiting the many different ruins throughout this lost city (who knew?) and emerged with a deeper understanding of how the Mayan civilization operated. Alex was truly fantastic in this regard. He is the kind of person with whom you would enjoy a casual meal for the opportunity to ask questions and learn not only about his knowledge of history and the region but also his own life. Alex is a really good person on top of being an effective tour guide. Visiting Chichen Itza is a must-do for first-time visitors to the Yucatan Peninsula. I began the experience knowing very little and was made the wiser for it. Absolute Adventure Mexico, my wife and I are grateful for the experience you gave us. Please continue to maintain a high bar for hiring tour guides, as those like Alex make these experiences successful for your clients.
