Additional Information

Chichen Itza, the ancient Mayan city located in Mexico, stood as a significant political hub in the Mayan civilization. Established circa 525 AD, it also held the title of the most crucial religious location across the Yucatan Peninsula.

We are ahead of the pack, reaching the historical ruins of Chichen Itza among the initial few. Our journey to Chichen Itza promises a taste of aged history, archaeology, local culture, and enchanting bewitchments. We equip you with umbrellas for a pleasurable exploration of the complex.

Our expedition from Cancun to Chichen Itza consists of more than just a tour of the Mayan ruins. It incorporates a detour to the historical town of Valladolid, a handicrafts shop visit, a mouthwatering buffet lunch made up of local cuisines, as well as a visit to a magnificent pair of open-air cenotes (natural freshwater sinkholes). The Mayans revered cenotes as holy gateways to the underworld and utilized them as their sole freshwater resource. An opportunity also exists for you to take a refreshing dip in the cenote!

One of the best - It was one of the most amazing tours Ive been on! They took us through a Mayan village where we got off for lunch and a traditional Mayan massage and shot. It was too cool to see. After we made our way to the beautiful Chichen Itza. They gave us about two hours to explore and they provided really good information about the ruins. Next, we went to the Cenote and it was exceptionally beautiful. We did not swim but it was just as great seeing it. Last, we went to the city of Valladolid. There we got to see dancing, eat Mexican dessert, and see some of the amazing culture this country has to offer! 100/100 would recommend. The three tour guides were amazing!

Fantástico culture. - The Guide was Very good (Carlos). The food as well. The only stuff i did not like was 3 hours on the bus. You spend more time travelling then knowing the places.

Trip - My friends and I had such a great time! It’s an all day activity, be sure not to plan anything else if you go on this trip! We love how we went to two different cenotes & got to know more of the culture. We loved it!

chichen itza visit - A very organized tour and packed with activities. Although we went to visit Chichen Itza after lunch right in the hottest time of the day! I wonder if the visit couldn't be the first thing of the day instead?

Beautiful sites, horrible logistics and planning - First off I will say the tour guides did a solid job. The sites were also beautiful. That’s where any positivity ends. Logistically this was an absolute nightmare. If you are getting picked up from Cancun or anywhere more north, be ready for a 16-18 hour day. This was NOT advertised, as the trip indicates a start time of 7:30am (not true for most departures). Most pissed about this. If we knew what we were truly getting into, there’s not a chance we would have booked this. In the morning, we got picked up by a van that dropped us off on the side of the road in Cancun and we were told to just wait for the tour bus. Immediately we were confused and put off. The bus we got on then proceeded to make 4 stops along the way to chichen itza, which turned this leg into a 5 hour journey (not kidding). On the way home, aside from the fact that the bus makes the same 4 stops, we waited for a half hour for several vans to pick people up in the Tulum area on the side of the road. And no explanation given. It's almost as if they were coordinating the logistics on the fly. Be ready to spend 75% of your time on a bus, and it honestly overshadows how cool the chichen itza and cenotes are.

Didn't get what we paid for - My family and I booked this tour for our summer trip and was extremely disappointed. We felt lied to and scammed by the description and completely dismissed by the tour guide throughout the trip. We hope to warn others so they don't make the same mistake we did. First, starting with the hotel pick up. We were asked to meet at Coco Bongo which was 3 blocks away from where we started. After that we were then led an additional 5 blocks to get to the actual bus, so don't except to be picked up in front of our near your hotel at all. Second, we had a massive issue with not being given things that were included in the package when we bought it. For example, there was no breakfast, no water, and no umbrellas offered. The tour guide refused to sell us water unless we bought their $20 drinks and water package per person but none of my family drink, so we ended up buying water for $8 at Chichen Itza. When we relayed this to the travel agency, they said we had only purchased the Basic package but 1) our booking confirmation sent to us had listed these benefits and 2) nowhere did it distinguish the difference between Basic and other packages which made us feel we were being lied to and scammed. Third, we specifically requested an English tour guide when given the option to because none of us speak Spanish. We obviously would've been okay with English translations accompanying Spanish explanations. However, the tour guide spoke almost exclusively in Spanish and scattered random English phrases throughout. This made it extremely difficult to follow because we were picking up words interspersed throughout really fast paced Spanish. We asked the tour guide if he could try to speak a few sentences of Spanish and a few of English to make it easier to follow but he said he could not. As a result, we were left completely confused and in the dark not knowing what was going on, when to meet, etc for the rest of the tour. We ended up having to hire an English tour guide at Chichen Itza for $60. By the end of the tour, it felt like the tour guide had completely given up on providing English translations. Fourth, they changed the order of the tour listed on the website in order to take us shopping first at a location with insane mark ups (~90%) because they knew we could get cheaper prices at Chichen Itza. It's fine to take tourists shopping, but to keep us there for 40 minutes and to alter the described tour timeline for this express purpose was unacceptable to me. Fifth, the cenote we were taken to was NOT Ik Kil or even Suytun and was instead one that was next to the shopping center (Xcajum). This is blatant false advertising and we were extremely frustrated and disappointed especially my son whose only request was that we go swimming in Ik Kil. Even though the cenote was next to the shopping center, we couldn't go swimming because the tour guide disappeared for 40 minutes and we needed him to give us wrist bands. We ended up having less than 90 minutes for both swimming and lunch. All in all, we're usually really lenient and understanding but felt this travel agency and tour took advantage of us, lied to us, and would really advise against anyone else booking with them.
