Go see Sue! - Loved this!! The dinosaurs were our main attraction but the museum is huge & you could stay here for 3+ hours easily. Great experience.

Buy your tickets at the museum and save $30 - The museum is great and takes hours to do it all but just buy your tickets when you get there so you don't get ripped off like I did by using this company.

Our visit included a tour of the plant exhibit's history. If you are in Chicago, I would suggest going. - We thoroughly enjoyed learning about Sue the T-Rex, and it was quite fascinating. Along with a wealth of excellent information, the display also covered the planet's creation and each of the extinction eras. It is convenient to visit a couple museums on the same day because of the museum's diverse displays and convenient location near other museums.

Amazing Time!! - I visited the Field Museum solo, and had an amazing time. I wish I had more time, but next time I will plan ahead. There is truly something to intrigue everyone at the Field Museum. I honestly had no idea it had as many exhibits as it did! Extremely fun museum to visit!!

Sue is Amazing - I hadn’t visited since I lived in Chicago back in the 1980’s. It was a wonderful visit. My husband and I enjoyed many of the standard exhibits as well as some of the current showings. Of course, I was very excited to see Sue, the T’Rex that came to the museum more recently. It was presented well a she is magnificent. Also enjoyed many of the animal exhibits and jewels. The cafe has lots of great options in a Chicago hotdog!

Great experience - We went here after a horrible experience at the shed aquarium. It was graduation weekend from Navy Boot Camp for my son. He received free admission and I did as well as a retired military. They offered student discounts whereas we paid $254 for six adults and one two year-old at the shed aquarium, it was only $53 for the same group at the field museum. We ended up running out of time because there was so much to see. We spent three hours and ended up rushing through one exhibit and skipping an entire other one. It held my intention throughout the entire visit.

Lacks the "Wow" I was hoping for - This is a large, pretty good natural history museum. But for me, it kind of lacked a little bit of the "Wow" that I like to see in museums like this. For example, the first place I go for a bit of wow are the gems and minerals. The gems (not really my thing), were OK, and the minerals (which definitely are my thing) were also just OK at best. There weren't really any "Holy cow, look at that" specimens. It was good on an information basis- lots of explanations on types of mineral families, forms, etc. Fossils are another thing I really like. Some of their fossils are exceptional- the archeopteryx is amazing, and Sue the T Rex has been redone since I was last there and looks great. Many of the other dinosaurs were great too, but not on the level of the Houston Museum of Natural Science (the ultimate natural history museum imho). Many of the other exhibits were pretty darned good, and the museum does a really good job with explanations of things. I could have spent far more time in the plants section- so much to learn. Honestly I could spend a lot of time in this museum, one full day really wasn't enough.
