Pretty funny tour guide - Steve, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided a great commentary to the African American History of Chicago! Enjoyed the photo ops and riding through the neighborhoods! He is an excellent photographer with the phones! He was helpful if you had questions about planning your trip as well! He joked a lot but don’t be funnier than him or you might lose your seat lol!

Great African American Tour - We had a very enlightening tour of Chicago, and particularly from an African American perspective. Steve was a wealth of knowledge telling us about various African American people and taking us to relevant African American places off the beaten path. Steve was able to answer ever question I had. We had many photo opportunities and Steve was a great photographer. Steve made the tour very exciting. I enjoyed learning about the African American migration to Chicago. We had ample time to visit the DuSable African American Museum. Seeing Emmett Till’s house was an emotional moment for me. Steve was very accommodating. He dropped off us off at a Pearl’s Soul Food restaurant and came back to pick us up. We had the opportunity to go on another of his tours on the North Side of Chicago on the same day.

Learning by repition - Everything was great. Our tour guide, Mr. Steve, was a tower of knowledge. We could take pictures and receive an in-depth history lesson on the South Side of Chicago. I highly recommend this tour. You will not be disappointed. Oh, and I still remember the catchphrases that Mr. Steve shared for the tour. We were visiting from another state.

From VA to Chicago - This was my first time in Chicago. The tour was good but could be cut into two hours instead of four. Maybe eliminating the last hour about houses and cost. I really didn't find it interesting. However. MR. Steve was very knowledgeable and such great energy. The museum time frame was okay. Overall the tour was good. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is willing to get information about African American people that changed Chicago and made history.

Tour Guide Needs Training - Started bad from the start. Guide was late, tour started 20 minutes late. Guide's delivery & style took away from the tour. He was short, at times rude, and had his own personal preconceived notions on many things pertaining to Chicago. Called President Obama's Muesuem site "the hole in the ground..." When asked a question about the iconic shopping area known as Jew Town and what happened to it, he began to lecture and basically called us racist... When asked, "what is China Town called?"He just glared at me. Looking back on it, we should have departed than, but we had already paid for a tour. Had noticeable issues with subsidized housing. There was no Soul Food Dinner as advertised. All in all Steve's poor delivery and short abrupt manner, when asked a question, took away from the tour. Yelling "JOBS" repeatedly, was annoying redundant. Steve got lost finding our hotel pick up point and seemed to be lost dropping us off. Also got lost in the middle of the tour while attempting to find the home of author Richard Wright. At one point he even suggested we walk back to our hotel, due to traffic🙄 I don't recommend this tour. But perhaps if you do it, you'll catch Steve on a better day.
