Nestled in a forested area with a natural lake, Wat Umong offers an ideal setting for meditation.
- Wat Pha Lat - While many visitors head to the top of Doi Suthep to see the golden chedi of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, they often miss another hidden gem partway up the mountain. Although the temple building itself is not particularly striking, the grounds are enchanting, featuring a waterfall, forest paths, and breathtaking views of the city.
- Wat Phra That Doi Suthep - This is one of northern Thailand’s most significant and beautiful temples, located near the summit of Doi Suthep (Mount Suthep). Established in 1373 with the construction of the first Chedi, it is a revered pilgrimage site for many Thai people. Visitors can either climb the 306 steps or take a cable car to reach the pagodas. The monks’ chanting offers a deeply spiritual experience. The temple’s Golden Chedi shines magnificently, and the views of Chiang Mai City and its surroundings at sunset are spectacular. Very good option for visiting major temples outside Chiang Mai - This tour was an ideal option for us staying in a remote location 25 minutes drive from Chiang Mai. It allowed us to visit the three most spectacular temples located around the city, which would be otherwise difficult when relying on a taxi or tuk-tuk.

Not to be missed! - All I can say is wow! The temples we were privileged to see were so very interesting and very different. What made this tour extra special was our guide Gobi! He was such an intelligent, interesting and great story teller! Our driver was also added a lot as he was also a photographer so he took so many fantastic pictures! Perfect amount of time, highly recommended

Fantastic and meaningful - Our day began with Noom who was an outstanding guide. He provided all of the information we were interested in knowing and graciously responded to all of our questions. He was respectful to take cues from our pace, understood what was of interest to us, was sure they we always had the best vantage points, photo tips, and valuable information. Noom always made sure we were comfortable and happy. He also satisfied our intellectual curiosity. He had great communication with the driver to ensure he was at the ready for us as well and we had plenty of water and refreshing cool wipes. We had a memorable experience visiting the temples and understood the connection between them, the city of Chiang Mai and the people. This tour felt so personal and enriching. We felt so lucky to have this experience. Would highly recommend and suggest you request Noom. He will ensure your experience is meaningful to you.

Equal Parts Fun and Informative! - Our family of five had a wonderful afternoon/evening touring Wat Umong, Wat Pha Lat, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Our guide, Gobi, was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with all of our questions. He provided us with so much useful information not only about the temples, but also Thai history and culture — and all with a great sense of humor. Both he and our driver were very thoughtful and polite every step of the way. When it was time to watch the evening prayer chant at Doi Suthep, Gobi even saw to it that one member of our group who needed it had access to a chair rather than sitting on the ground. He even left us with restaurant recommendations! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wishing to learn more about Buddhism and the area’s rich history. And definitely ask for Gobi if you can! You won’t be disappointed.

Great Experience - We arranged this trip through our hotel concierge at short notice. Out guide Pe was very good and the driver Boo was courteous.
Pe explained everything patiently, did not hurry us and one of the best guides we have seen.
I really recommend this company for your local tours

A must see tour with a wonderful guide - We loved our trip to the temples with our guide Gobi at AP tours and our driver Boo. They were both knowledgeable about Thai history, the temples, and Chiang Mai culture. Not only was Gobi kind to us but he was helpful, kind, and outgoing to other travelers around us. We would take a tour again with them anytime. The air conditioned car was a real blessing. All three temples were a valuable experience because each was quite different from the next.

Wonderful temple tour!! - This tour was wonderful! Our driver & tour guide picked us up & dropped us off at our accommodation. Peter, our tour guide spoke great English & gave us so much history about Chiang Mai & Thailand & the temples there. It was incredible to witness the monks chant & go inside all of the temples! Thank you Peter!!! We had a great time!!
