The driver and guide will collect travelers from their hotel. The tour begins with a trip to Kanchipuram, a city approximately 45 minutes from Chennai. Historically, Kanchipuram was a hub of education, known as the “ghatikasthanam,” or place of learning. Between the 1st and 5th centuries, it was also a religious center for advanced education in Jainism and Buddhism. Situated on the banks of the Vegavathy River, the city is home to numerous temples. In Vaishnavism Hindu theology, Kanchipuram is one of the seven Tirtha (pilgrimage) sites for spiritual practice. The city is renowned for its handwoven silk saris, with most of the workforce engaged in the weaving industry. During the tour, visitors will explore three temples that exemplify this sacred town—Kailasantha and Ekambareshwara temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Vaikuntaperumal temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

• Mahabalipuram - From Kanchipuram, the journey continues to the ancient Pallavan port of Mamallapuram. This historic town and bustling seaport was a departure point for ancient Indian traders sailing to Southeast Asia as early as the 1st century. Visitors can admire the group of sanctuaries carved from rock in the 7th and 8th centuries: Rathas (temples shaped like chariots), Mandapas (cave sanctuaries), giant open-air rock reliefs such as the renowned “Descent of the Ganges,” and the Shore Temple, adorned with thousands of sculptures celebrating Shiva. The Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travelers will return to their hotel in Chennai by late evening.
