- Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo) - The tour typically begins at 9 am from the Chengdu downtown hotel. After a drive of up to 2 hours, the destination, Leshan Giant Buddha, is reached. Visitors will notice that the Buddha’s head aligns with the mountain, while its feet touch the water at the confluence of the Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River. Construction of the Buddha began in A.D. 713. The entire statue stands 71 meters tall, with a head measuring 14.7 meters in height and 10 meters in width. The Buddha holds a significant status in China and globally, not only due to its size but also because of its architectural artistry, evident in its coiled hair and remarkable drainage system.
