Mount Qingcheng - Option 1:
This option includes a visit to the renowned Mt. Qingcheng, the top mountain in western Sichuan. Known as the “Mountain with Greens,” it boasts 98% forest coverage, creating a natural oxygen-rich environment. The journey begins with a 1.5-hour drive from downtown Chengdu to Mt. Qingcheng, followed by a 1-hour walk to Yuecheng Lake. Along the way, visitors will explore Jianfu Temple. Yuecheng Lake, located at the base of Summit Zhangren, is formed by an underground spring. The morning mist over the lake and its surroundings offers stunning photo opportunities. After visiting the lake, a 10-minute cable car ride takes you to the mountain’s midpoint, followed by a 40-minute walk to the summit at Laojun Palace. On clear days, the view provides a panoramic perspective of the Chengdu plain. The return journey follows the same path back to the parking area. -
Dujiangyan Panda Park - Option 2:
This option offers a visit to the less crowded panda base at Dujiangyan. While there is a panda base in downtown Chengdu, it is often very crowded due to its proximity to the city center, requiring long waits regardless of early arrival. In contrast, Dujiangyan, situated at a higher elevation, is cooler than downtown Chengdu, making it ideal for observing more active pandas in a less crowded setting. - Rongchuangmao - After completing the visit to Mt. Qingcheng or the Panda Park, guests will be driven to this shopping mall, featuring a “Hogwarts School”-style bookstore. It offers excellent photo opportunities, and guests can enjoy lunch there, with options for Western cuisine. For those preferring Chinese food, recommendations for local restaurants are available.
- Dujiangyan Irrigation System - In the afternoon, the tour continues to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, part of UNESCO’s natural and cultural heritage. This ancient man-made irrigation system has benefited Sichuan for nearly 2,300 years and remains operational today. The guide will provide a tour of the park, explaining the system’s workings, its transformation from a military strategy to a livelihood project, the founder’s identity, and insights into ancient Chinese intelligence and philosophy. After the tour, guests will be escorted back to their Chengdu hotel around 18:00.
