- Giant Panda Breeding Research Base (Xiongmao Jidi) - Meet your friendly English-speaking guide at your hotel lobby and you’ll head to the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center, a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals. Spend your morning with the cutest, yet impressive, creatures in China! 3 hours inside the Panda Center, tour through the baby and adult panda areas. On a guided tour, visit different sections of the center to get a full overview of a panda’s development. Visit the baby garden, where you can see giant panda cubs born in summer, which weigh only about 3.5 ounces (100 grams) at birth and by the third month are able to walk on their own. Then stop at the sub-adult garden, where the adolescent pandas hang out, and see the adult garden, which houses the giant pandas in all their full-grown glory. Take pictures of this endangered species eating bamboo, sleeping or frolicking about. Finally, visit the red panda section to see these small adorable animals and try to spot the sleeping red pandas stretched out on branches in the red panda garden.

Excellent!! Highly recommend - Jojo was an excellent guide. From the moment she greeted us at our hotel she was warm, funny, very respectful and knowledgeable. Jojo showed us around the panda center so we avoided most of the busy areas until she knew we would easily have access to viewing the pandas. JoJo talked freely about the history of the place and the panda.
Excellent tour guide and can highly recommend her. Thank you ☺️

Amazing trip - It was really good. Jojo knew everything there was to know about the pandas and the base they reside. She was very fun and offered to take loads of pictures. After she even offered to alsoshow me around wenshu monastery and showed me some local delicasies. It was alot more fun than expected and came with more than originally planned. I highly recommend taking this half a day trip

No-brainer - If you're visiting Chengdu, this half-day tour to the Panda Breeding Center is a must. The experience was everything I hoped for and more. Seeing the pandas up close, learning about their habits and conservation efforts - it was not only adorable but surprisingly informative
What really made the tour stand out, though, was our guide Jojo. She was exceptional - fluent in English, incredibly knowledgeable, and able to answer every random question I threw at her. More than that, she was warm, flexible, and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves
Whether you're a panda enthusiast or just looking to see something unique, this tour is a no-brainer

Unforgettable Panda Adventure in Chengdu with Wells - My family and i had an amazing experience on the panda tour in Chengdu, and much of that is thanks to our incredible English-speaking guide, Wells. From the moment the tour began, Wells exuded warmth, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge—not just about pandas, but about Chengdu’s history, culture, and charm. If you're visiting Chengdu and wanting to visit the pandas up close, this tour is an absolute must—and if you can, ask for Wells. He turned an already amazing adventure into a heartwarming, unforgettable journey.

A memorable experience - Jojo was a great guide to the panda center. She was great at guiding us through the panda base and was very helpful in getting good photos of us. Would definitely recommend to book this tour!

Pretty good - Had a great time with Jojo our tour guide! She was nice and friendly and could speak English well. The pandas were cute and lazy but there were a lot of people. Highlight was definitely when we saw two pandas duke it out, rest of the time they were just eating or sleeping.

You can easily enjoy panda sightseeing - Transportation is attentive, English guide has a lot of language skills, explanations and information are sufficient, easy to communicate, we have made it four stars from the above.

Kind of fun for the kids but not worth it. - Ok experience but don’t get your hopes up to get near a panda let alone touching it. While our guide Sam was very helpful, the actual tour was a disappointment. We did see some famous panda but it wasn’t much different seeing them in the zoo. We got close to just one giant panda as the staff fed it and that’s about it of being a “volunteer”. Let me just put all the rumors to rest: the staff said VERY clearly that you are NOT allowed to get within one meter from the pandas because they don’t know our the guests’ scent. So wherever you heard that you can touch the panda is NOT TRUE. What else disappointing about this is we spent 1 hour watching a video that’s not really interesting. We can watch the documentary on YouTube. It was a waste of time.

Cute pandas, very basic tour - The panda conservation center is very nice, a large park with many areas to visit. We really liked that by going early, we were able to see the pandas in the open spaces before they were brought in when it got hotter. The shuttle service from the hotel was fine, the problem was the guide, who didn't seem very interested in sharing information with us. He was passive and content with reading us information that was in front of us. He didn't take us to see the red pandas either, and at the end of the tour, as is typical in these cases, they took us to a souvenir shop where, according to the guide, they had everything sold within the park at cheaper prices, but in reality they were other things and of lower quality (agreed with the business). Overall, I felt like we didn't get the value for the cost of the ticket.

Great view of some pandas - Great view of some pandas, I would recommend you go in the morning only as otherwise the pandas will be inside and not as good as view. It was a very speedy tour and walking at pace up hillier parts and steps which I found harder . You can get transport there yourself and get entry only I believe - check it out , I would recommend that a good and better option . No need for guide and then you can go at your pace . Also remember your ID as I needed my passport . I would recommend to go but not this option .
