This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It is extremely photogenic, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. This section of the wall is wild, ruined, preserved and original. On a clear day, it is difficult to fail to take good photographs here.

- Amazing tour and driver. Zhang Feng was friendly and kind even if communication was only with translator. He climbed with us up to the wall to show us the way (even if it was quite easy not get lost). He also waited quite a long time before coming back as the group wanted to stop a little bit at the bar after the walk. Highly recommend!

July 25 - Amazing trip. Very well organised by the company. The weather was forecast to be terrible, so they added a guide to our trip (for free!) which was really amazing. Luis, our guide, was very kind and knowledgeable and made the whole experience much better. Would definitely recommend Jinshanling to others, was extremely quiet and pretty much no other tourists in sight.

Great wall tour of Jinshanling with intimate group - We had an amazing trip on Jinshanling. The guide (Devit) was very professional, full of interesting facts and great fun to hang out with. I will recommend this company on to others in the future.

Challenging but well worth it :-) - Great trip. More challenging than I anticipated as I have a fear of heights! Not the steepness of the climbing but the fact I felt I could fall a long way! But very interesting, very quiet - saw no locals except for some ladies selling T shirts and coffee etc. Rained a lot near the end which made the climb more challenging.
Quite a long drive each way, about 2 hours with a quick toilet stop in each direction. Very good driver and helpful guide who walked in about 30 minutes to take photos of us on the wall and who climbed up the trail at the end with umbrellas. Very nice touch. Cannot remember his name, oh dear. We had about 4.5 hours on the walk, which seemed about right. No need to rush.
Would I recommend? Definitely as it was challenging, very quiet and felt very authentic. The ladies trying to sell T-shirts etc walked with us for a while and explained a few things. So that was interesting but we did feel obligated to buy something!

One of the Greatest Experiences! - We had an amazing time on our Great Wall of China tour, and our driver, Zhang Feng, made it even better. He was incredibly helpful, always stayed in touch using a translation app, and made sure we had everything we needed for the hike. He was punctual, friendly, and truly went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and well-informed. The hike itself is quite hard definitely need a decent level of fitness but was truly incredible hiking along and we had it mostly all to ourselves as this section is not touristy at all! Highly recommended!

Highly recommend this trip!!! - WOW what an incredible experience this was!!! We had the wall basically to ourselves and the scenery was absolutely unreal!! We did get lost and walk to far haha so make sure you definitely understand where the exit it to meet the driver. The driver Zhang Feng took great care of us and was so funny! We used translator to communicate and he made sure we understood where to go and got home safely. He even brought us a beer for the drive home. Highly recommend ☺️

The "wild" Wall - pure magic - My teenage daughter and I spent a day on the wall with our guide Peter. A local Beijinger, he was very knowledgeable and guided us out onto a section of the "wild" (unrestored) Wall away from the (other) tourists; so quiet, peaceful and scenic; what a magical experience. We enjoyed our day on the Wall with Peter very much. Thanks Great Wall Hiking.

A fabulous day walking to the top of the great wall of china - We had absolutely stunning weather that day. I took it up on me to make sure I hike up the 1200 steps to the top. It was not easy. Some of the steps are quite high. So be careful and wear good shoes. Take your time and hold on whenever you need to. But it sure is worth it.

Zhang Feng was a great... - Zhang Feng was a great guide. He was happy, positive, and giving. Despite the wall being closed due to weather, he tried incredibly hard to give us a good experience. I think the tour operator needs to come up with a plan, though, when weather impacts the closer of the wall- making alternate plans to other sections or leaving in the afternoon, or anything else. Waiting around for the possibility of it maybe opening was very frustrating. But Zhang Feng made it fun!
