CHARLESTON - MOTHER/DAUGHTER TRIP - My daughter and I spent some time at this plantation. We did the train ride, which was awesome - just a little too windy to be able to hear our driver with all the history but loved seeing the gardens and all the wildlife. We then checked out the wildlife center and had a cup of coffee as it was cold windy and raining. We walked through the gardens which are absolutely beautiful and so well upkept. And lastly we did a tour of the house. Our tour guide in the house was SUPERB! I can't remember her name but she was a 5th grade teacher and gave tours in her downtime! She was fun and gave lots of great history! I would highly recommend going as the gardens are just beautiful! And the best part of this story is that it is still owned by the original owners lineage! WOW!

Beautiful Gardens - It was so nice not having to rent a car and drive to experience and learn more about Charleston’s plantation history. The gardens were beautiful even in February.

Tyler was an excellent... - Tyler was an excellent guide and the tour was great. Just wished we had enough time to see both the gardens and enslaved people’s quarters.

Convenient, efficient, and well managed tour with a well-informed guide - The guide was well-informed, and entertaining, if not a little corny. Transportation was smooth and the itinerary thorough. As with many similar tours, it was a bit rushed, with us having to cut short the garden tour because the house tour went over time. But overall, it was a convenient and efficient opportunity to get out and learn a bit of history and see a pretty site. I did appreciate that we didn’t waste time on a forced “shopping” stop, as many of the tours try to include.

A waste of money - This was a complete rip off. After charging us, we were told the tours were sold out unless we wanted to wait hours. They also cost more than the entrance fee per tour. We paid $32 per person for four of us to spend literally five minutes there. I left feeling scammed. Don’t bother!
