Cross Meeting St. into the original walled city, where we discuss Pres. Washington’s visit and Charleston “firsts”.
Ending on Bay St to see the city planned by the Lord’s Proprietors, discussing why it was built and why it came down.
On to the High Battery to discuss the start of two wars in our harbor, the last Royal Governor and the beginning and end of the Civil War.
As we make our way back, we discuss slavery, hospitality, friendly societies and colonial Charleston once more.
