- Morris Island Lighthouse - The journey begins with a relaxing 30-minute cruise departing from the dock, navigating through the picturesque salt marshes of one of Charleston’s most beautiful rivers. Passengers will have the chance to observe a diverse range of local wildlife, including the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin and various stunning estuary birds. Upon reaching Morris Island, an uninhabited barrier island, visitors will be treated to a spectacular view of the renowned Morris Island Lighthouse. If the tide permits, there will be an opportunity to stroll along the beach, search for seashells and shark teeth, capture photos, and immerse in the natural splendor of this unique location. After exploring Morris Island, the return journey will take us back to the dock via Lighthouse House Inlet and The Folly River.

Step aboard a 27’ Coast Guard Certified vessel. “Marsh Mama” features an open design with comfortable cushioned seating and a Bluetooth stereo for your entertainment. Spacious coolers stocked with ice and water are provided, and you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages! (BYOB)
Your captain is experienced, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He will ensure your safety, share fascinating facts, and provide excellent care. Your captain holds a Masters License.
This tour is ideal for guests of all ages, perfect for families, friends, and celebrations! Pets are welcome too!

We will be departing from Crosby’s Fish & Shrimp Market. If your cruise departs before 6:00 pm, park to the left of the dumpster when pulling into parking lot. If your cruise starts at 6:00 or later, park anywhere in lot.

WOW!!! Truly one of the best excursions I have ever done!! - This was FABULOUS! Captain D is AWESOME, and taught us a lot about the estuary and its inhabitants. We saw a lot of dolphins, and there were shells galore where we stopped at the barrier island, and the lighthouse was the perfect backdrop for some cool pictures. I highly recommend the evening tour, as the sunset was spectacular! I had family visiting from up north, and this excursion WOWED our guests for sure! I live here locally, but will certainly do this excursion again!! THANK YOU CAPTAIN D for an amazing evening!!!

Great tour and Nick is a great captain! - A group of 8 college friends went to Charleston for a weekend of eating and camaraderie. Nick is a very capable captain with a wealth of knowledge about the marine life in the area. He was polite, kind, anticipated our needs and very professional. We chose not to get off the boat but stay and explore the waterways and beautiful scenery. I would 100% recommend this tour for any age and group.

Best sunset tour (and best guide!) ever!! - We booked this tour at the last minute, and it was such a great decision! The 6:30pm time was perfect. Our guide, Nick, was amazing and made the tour so memorable. The dolphins, egrets, and other wildlife were showing off for us, we found some beautiful shells, and the sunset views were spectacular. Nick knew the best photo spots, was so knowledgeable about the area and environment, and was just an overall gentleman. He was so kind and offered us great recommendations for the area that really helped make our trip fabulous. Highly recommend!

Great experience, we’ll be back! - Saw a beautiful sunset, tons of dolphin activity, and a ton of gorgeous water fowl. This was a great experience- highly recommended! Swing by Bowens Island Restaurant right up the road when you’re done and get some steamed oysters!

This was such an... - This was such an incredible experience. Definitely recommend going at sunset. It was gorgeous! Our captain was fun and professional. We got to see quite a few dolphins and found some beautiful shells on the island.

A relaxing, informative and overall wonderful way to explore the area - The tour with Captain Jodie from Ducworth Charters was wonderful! We took the 4:30pm tour which allowed us to not only see the sunset but also to go to Morris Island to walk on the beach and see the lighthouse.
Captain Josie's educator skills were firmly on display as he pointed out and explained to my friend, my 11 year old and I about dolphins, water birds and bivalves . He steered the boat confidentiality and worked to put us at ease, providing both blankets and water if needed.
Would definitely contact him again if looking to get on the water in the area!

Fun and educational! - I had the most fantastic time!!
I had 2 full days in Charleston to do what I wanted while my husband attended a work conference. We have been visiting Charleston since 1996 (our honeymoon) but never went out to the beach.
We live in Alexandria, VA but are from NY- spend summer vacation on a lake in the Adirondacks.(so I knew to always bring a jacket when out on the water, even if the temperature was 75’ and sunny) I was a Biology major and spent 2 summers working as a park ranger in Central Park. Captain Jody and I are both educators. We had an incredible time teaching each other “stuff”. The life long learner in me was so enthusiastic to learn all about the marsh ecosystem, the ecology, the bird types, the oyster bars, pluff mud, Morris lighthouse, dolphins, funny antidotes, etc.
I had signed up for the 10 am tour but was the only person- Jody did not cancel me but asked to move me to 2pm which worked out better time wise and weather wise. He was not going to charge me the solo rate but I insisted on paying the difference. Honestly, I thought I got a great deal.

Awesome ride and captain. - This trip was awesome. Captain Jody was so friendly and even moved our time up to accommodate the weather. He was awesome, showed us so much and treated our dog like one of his own. 10/10 recommend.

A Different View of Charleston - Captain D was fantastic. He made very entertaining and informative, ensuring our family and all passengers thoroughly enjoyed the trip. He adjusted the itinerary to suit everyone’s wants, and ensure we got the angles/pictures we were after. I would absolutely recommend this trip for a unique view of Charleston.

They had to cancel last minute but did so graciously. - Unfortunately they had to cancel last minute but they immediately reimbursed us and paid for our driver. They sent a sincere apology text as well.
