We learned so much about... - We learned so much about the history of Charleston and saw so many points of interests throughout the trip. Our guide was a history teacher with extensive knowledge, we couldn’t have had a better guide.

Book this tour with Pineapple Co. - I’ve done a lot of these tours in a lot of cities, but this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. Even the teenagers were engaged and enjoying the tour. We learned so much—a lot of these tours show you the sites—our guide got much deeper into the history of Charleston and it was fascinating.

Charleston: The History & Charm in Style & Comfort - This was my 2nd time taking this tour in 8 weeks, last time with a girlfriend, but the first time for my husband and our friends visiting. Ron Smith (Smitty) was the same driver/guide from my last tour. He is so well versed in the history of Charleston that his narration is riveting 🧐. It’s like listening to a good story book. Ron has detailed information about each neighborhood, the dates, and the names of who played important roles in the history of the area. The tour includes stops along the route where Ron steps into the aisle and reveals more about each neighborhood and landmark. Of particular interest to us was, the scene of the submarine and its sailors, my husband is a retired ship captain. We all enjoyed the fascinating story of Robert Smalls. I ordered the book, Live Free or Die. The bus is very comfortable, not too big and has nice air conditioning, not too cold, just right. We moved here from the West Coast, 9 months ago and have taken the horse drawn carriage tour 7 times but this tour is so much more interesting. Now that we have discovered it, we’ll be recommending it to all our visiting friends and family. Put the Pineapple Tour on your family’s agenda and everyone in your group will be thanking you.

Best city tour and guide ever! - This was a fabulous tour! Benjamin was our guide. He’s a local guy with lots of knowledge, a charming personality and a QUICK wit. He was superb! I can’t tell you how much we learned throughout. It was not just a lecture or rehearsed speech! He told the story of Charleston and every building, event, person and place. It was together beautifully, and just painted a picture of life in Charleston throughout American history. My husband and I both commented that this was one of the best city tours we have ever done and the best guide!! (And we’ve done a lot!) In addition, Pineapple Tours is a locally owned and operated company which is ideal to support.

The best! - Rodney was our tour guide, and wow, is he knowledgeable about the city. Super kind and friendly too. There was never a quiet moment on the tour, even when we hit a bit of traffic, he always had an interesting story to tell. He also single-handedly saved the day for my family, as we'd booked through trip advisor, but somehow our reservation was never sent to the tour company. We were going to have to take a later tour with a different company, which would have really thrown off our plans for the day, but he managed to work it out by talking to some other people in the tour group who were open to changing their plans and freed up space for us. So grateful, as I would not have wanted to miss this! Also, in case you missed the moral of the story, do NOT book directly through here. He said this error has happened before.

Goodexperience until the highly disappointing endend. - This tour of the city highlights the architecture and offers a very enlightening history of how Charleston evolved. The tour guide was very engaging. Unfortunately at the end of the tour he stated that if anyone was offended by anything he said then "keep your mouth shut. " He also inserted the word damn into that comment and suddenly I realized that he didn't just sound like CNN Commentator Scott Jennings. He appeared to have the same mindset. I was the only Black person on the bus. Others were from Canada and Australia. I noticed how they all sat still until I existed the bus. The tour guide thanked me stiffly and I told him that he sounded Ike a writer. Behind me I heard him loudly responding to the other customers with his good old Southern charm on display. I walked away wishing that we'd never met.
